*** VR Deals Thread ***

Ah, I'm on Rift S, so I don't see that.

Walkabout Mini Golf is cross-buy. So if you buy the Quest version you get the Rift version too.

Strangely, it's not unusual for the Quest version of a cross-buy game to be discounted and the Rift version not, or vice versa!

It pays to check both Quest and Rift stores for cross-buy games, especially during sales, to see which store is cheaper.

OK, I've answered that question via Google - in theory I can. But I don't quite understand the process of how - if I buy Walkabout through the web-based Quest store - I get it to appear in my Oculus account. Any help appreciated! I don't want to buy and then find out it will only port across if I have the Quest software installed too.

I think the oculus software is just the oculus software. Whether you have rift or quest.

You have 48 hours to refund anyway. So try it and see.

IF you don't have a Quest/Quest 2, you can't play the Quest version.

But I'm not trying to play the Quest version - I'm trying to buy the quest version, automatically get the Oculus version too, and play the latter. :)

As per the 48 hour refund deal, I might just give it a go this evening. All for the sake of £3! But it would prove a useful premise.

This does work. I've done it several times. As long as the description says it supports Rift as well as Quest you'll automatically get the both versions.

I've used the Rift version of Walkabout Mini Golf which was cross-buy with the Quest version to play multiplayer with my Wife and Daughter. (I was using my Index, with the Revive emulator, but it worked really well).

Ah, ok, your post made it seem like you were trying to play the Quest version on your PC.

Here is the list of crossbuy experiences.

That's re-confused me! Because the description does not say that it supports Rift - but I wouldn't expect it to. The description of the cross buy apps states this specifically - that games are not compatible between the two, but that you get both versions if you buy one.

This has all become immaterial, because it's no longer on special offer on the Quest store either anyway. :D

A couple of friends have Quest 2s since I showed mine to them.
Got golf to play together. See that Pistol Whip is on sale on Steam. If I bought the Steam version (for Linked/Airplay) could I play with native Quest 2 users. Am assuming graphics better for a decent PC too?
