Blessing in disguise, no impulse buying! :p:p
Have to agree in a way. I sort of bought it on an impulse :D

Let's let's look at it this way...for example the MSI 290 at £330...pretend the BF4 and silver ticket worth £30, so the card itself worth £300. So paying for this unlocked card at £360 is essentially paying 20% extra for average of 3-5% gain doesn't seen very good bang for bucks, but in a way it's not much worse than going for the 280x/7970 instead of the 7950 back then £180 vs £240...it was also £60 extra, but in that context, people were paying 33% extra for 3-5% gain :D

Most sensible thing I have read today.

Edit: what I meant was you can get a nice 290 for £300 assuming you sell the games, and the 3-5% gain will be hardly noticeable.

Ultimately I think this is what stopped me.
Although I now have "non-buyers remorse" :)

If I get a regular 290 now, hidden in the fan noise, I'll hear a voice whisper "could've been better, could've been better"...

Rather than this being an expensive 290 I see it as a cheap 290X. You get a 290X GPU rather than a binned 290 part which may not have made the grade.

Sure 3-7% over a non-X at same clocks isn't much, but it feels nicer when you get it for £60 cheaper than an identical 290X. Plus GPUZ says 2816 rather than 2560, giving you an instant 10% larger nadger. Alternatively, spend less on untested 290 and take the lottery.

I would have thought there would have been the version with the tech labs cooler, not the water but the huge air cooler. Now that would have been a talking point...

Your listing states "2560 Stream Processors" if its flashed should that not be 2816?

There are two, check them both. ;)

One is flashed, but the shaders did not unlock, hence only voltage unlocked and only £319.99

The other the cores did unlock and is hence priced at £359.99
