Wait or get pico ?.

I use to have a quest 2 but it broke and have a little library on the store but most are on steam. If a game was on quest store or steam store i would go with steam store as i knew that other headsets would work with steam. I was wondering since quest 2 updated its name to meta quest that there be updated head sets?.

Ideally you should have logged in to you old Oculus/meta account and then migrated it to a new horizon account. You should still be able to log in to your old Oculus account, but you'll be forced to use a fb account or create a new horizon account rather than use the one you already created. Welcome to the metaverse.

Should i just uninstall the oculus app on desktop then?. I have also downloaded the meta app on phone and all games are there what i got from the desktop app. Everything looks like its there. i just need to wait for head set now which is Monday. By the looks of it you continue setup on the head set itself?.

You should be able to also update your desktop app to your meta one which will allow you to do PCVR and have all your games in one place.

I'm tempted to buy the controllers, as they work with Q2 and it's unlikely they will ship with Q3.

I like the idea of having tracking as good as my Rift CV1 and Index without the tracking rings bashing into eachother when trying to reload or hold two handed weapons.

I will have to spend a bit more time with the controllers to see if it would be a worthy upgrade for Quest 2 users. They have some weight to them.
Had a bash in Robo Recall (Had that game free from the CV1 days). They worked well at grabbing the shotgun from your back.

I think with the Pro controllers it depends how balanced they feel in your hands. The CV1 controllers were heavier than the Q2 ones, but they were so well balanced with the tracking ring underneath that they sort of melted away when using them. In some ways they felt better than the Index controllers. Certainly the thumbstick and buttons were better placed.

They feel very balanced, feel premium, but have some weight to them. Could knock someone out if you didn't strap them on, and went to throw something in VR and ended up launching the controller...
They charge quickly, and drain slowly. But then the plug is 45W that charges both controllers and HMD.

I take it you do remember that the QPro hand controller batteries only last eight hours.

Only 8hrs... I can't remember a play session where I was using the controllers for 8hrs solid.
They only takes minutes to add some good charge to them... Thanks to the 45W plug.

Next?...
Ban.

apparently , the Quest Pro controllers only have an 8 hour battery life...

Meta say the controllers last up to 8 hours before needing recharging.

According to some of the posts on the OcUK VR forum, the controller batteries last 8 hours.

did anyone hear how long the batteries in Quest Pro controllers last ?

I think it was 8 hours. But I'm very much in the know. There's no way anyone else on this thread could tell you that.

Steve's nose also thinks the batteries last 8 hours. Which is quite clever for olfactory equipment.

next person who says the controllers will last /upto 8 hours gets a 24hr suspension :p

I think if anything is to be picked at, it is the battery life of the Quest Pro HMD...
2hrs is maxed.
USB 5V 1A (5W) using PCVR, makes hardly any difference in battery lasting any longer.
I also have a cable that connects to a wall socket and PC, but that is also limited to 5V 2A (10W) this also doesn't improve the battery life much...

Running Air link, and plugged into the wall, the HMD doesn't drain.
