waitrose

Our local Morrisons is great. Always well stocked, friendly, helpful staff and the woman on the cheese counter always gives massive samples away.

You should've seen the waitrose nearest Reading Festival.

Queued for about 20 minutes just to get some bread and some spicey meat :o

but that's for the space of 1 weekend the city doubles its residence, hardly reflects the norm.

Waitrose is like Fortune and Mason compared to Morrisons.
Lol, you common as muck peasant :p

Waitrose is really nice, everything is top quality. It's part of John Lewis, a bit pricy for a lot of everyday stuff like loo roll and washing up liquid but that's what Lidl is for. I don't like their teabags though

Waitrose meat is excellent, probably the best of all the supermarkets.
I tell you what is nice; LWWF Venison Meatballs in a Damson Jus.

And to the OP - you could always use www.ocado.com to get your goodies delivered. So much better than the other supermarket home delivery services it's obscene.

They don't deliver to my house :(

Waitrose is actually cheaper for a LOT of things than all the cheaper supermarkets some things are more expensive but thats because they stock a wider range and you get much much higher quality stuff and the staff are friendly because we are well trained and well looked after :) and paid reasonably well for what we do and get a bonus of 15% of all the years earnings! :)

Do you mean Fortnum and Mason?

Waitrose is my favourite supermarket chain; Marks & Spencer takes a close second though. If Marks & Spencer had bigger food departments then it would be much harder to say which one is better.

the morrisons where i live is pretty much the only big supermarket around for miles, and i hate it. morrisons is the worst supermarket imo. people say it's cheap but it's cheap for a reason...

anyway it's closing down in a week or so and being turned into a waitrose. i've never shopped at a waitrose so i was wondering if they are any good?

waitrose are superb, probably the best of the lot, just a shame I don't have one closer to me :(

In my careful years-long scientific study of checkout girl bonkability, Waitrose wins hands down.

Sadly I cannot afford to shop there all the time, so must make do with Asda sea monsters on occasion.

ah so i see you live in southampton, damn u. The waitrose that is relocating there is my current daily stop for lunch in west quay, now that it's moving to portswood or where ever i'm going to have to live on tesco food, bah!

tesco > * tbh :p

at least you're going to get reasonably priced food.

Waitrose > * :D

The whole experience is just really enjoyable. :)

From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The shop is kind to the eye, the staff are always really pleasent. The own brand food, imo, is as good as M&S if not better in some cases (and that is good stuff ;)). I do like my food and enjoy going to shop for it when I can (considering I'm 16) and when you goto Morrisons or ASDA it doesn't feel like something you want to go out and do rather than have to. But a trip to Waitrose is really enjoyable and you'll want to shop there again. :)

Worked at waitrose for a year, the amount of training i got for just being a cashier was stupid monthly reviews etc. They also set your pay rate based on your customer service record basically. Unfortuantly i was on the lowest pay rate because i hated checkouts so much i was as misserbale git.

The prices for branded stuff such as coke etc are generally competitive with everywhere else but the waitrose branded items are of a lot higher quality then others and easily on par with marks and spencers, so the price is higher.

I like shopping at waitrose, can be a bit expensive to buy everything there, but their produce and meat is much better than the rest of the supermarkets and not unjustifiably expensive.

Oh, and their patisserie counter rocks :)

Having tried most of the supermarkets during university, i always go back to waitrose. Waitrose is the best supermarket imo, the food just always seems a better quality compared to tesco and morrisons. It can be a bit more expensive, but i love food, so i'm willing to pay the extra for the better quality you get.

I also find the stores are cleaner and better kept. The staff also seem far better trained when compared to tesco.

Gotta love some bribery to keep the staff smiling :p
