Remember my dad getting a WM-25 back in the day when they were released.

I had a few cheap brands that we probably got as freebies with stuff.

Best one I had was a little green Aiwa that was a bit similar to the ex808 above.

You guys were so lucky to own Sony Walkmans back then

Sure i remember owning only cheap brands that only had a fast fwd button and no Fast Rewind button :mad::mad:

Prices have gone mad on old stuff. I wish I had kept mine. Mine are long gone..

I was a big fan of Cassette Walkman to the point when my original Discman broke/stolen I went back to cassettes. I used to prefer the sound to CDs. So I used them long into the CD era. I had some of the last high end ones. At one point I got into MiniDisc and HiMD loved that format.

But it was a pain transferring CDs and such, and Cassettes would degrade overtime. I recorded the best mine (mix tapes etc) to MP3 and ATRAC. But the SQ is awful on many of them. When they started remastering CDs, the SQ was massively improved.

I still have high end Sony Midi Cassette in the attic. Just don't have the space for it downstairs now.

Love seeing the photos of them though.

well..just broke EX707 :(

changed belt on it, and while reassembling, snapped one connector off from front pcb..now front panel won't work...shame on me...

even if I would have soldering iron, my bad eyesight would not help...

on auction site for parts now :( possibly £100 loss here...

Don't have any of my old walkmen anymore. Did find my DCC portable player recently though. Don't have any DCC's to test it with though. May have to peruse the bay to grab a couple.

Just saw one of these pop into my FB marketplace feed. Still boxed, guy wants $2,450 for it. 1,200 quid
Super cool but can't justify that sort of money, despite how good I think it would look in my dining room plugged into a Sonos amp. Takes 4AA batteries too to make it super portable!
