WandaVision

Have I missed an explanation for Agnes being immune to Wanda's 'spell' over everyone?

or is this something that only comic book readers should know? I know there's lots of talk about who she might be, as well as her involvement in the initial trailer.

Hmm..

So do we think recast qs will have powers or just another cast member.. I mean he's been dead a while and surely she can't bring him back. Or maybe a multiverse thing?

Also the comment Wanda made to vision "I don't know how this started" makes me think there's some other antagonist..

The fact that Wanda claimed she didn't cause the doorbell to ring, her genuine look of surprise, and the 'breach' alarm going off in the real world make me think it's multiverse related.

There is a lot of 'speculation' about Agnes, but in the show we know nothing yet except she wasn't one of the people that had a real life ID attached on the board in the Sword tent (the other being Dottie who wasn't on the board at all). I would say don't go and look into speculation as it'll be more fun to find out while watching.

I think the real world person playing Agnes is probably very strong willed and the grip Wanda has slips when something happens Wanda isn't expecting or emotional.

Agnes first break was during the birth/confrontation with Monica.

The second break was when Vision questions her parenting/reality.

Anyone get the Magneto X1 vibe? I know she was created by the mind stone in the MCU but she definitely feels like she's starting to mirror her comic book papa!!

With what glimpses we have seen from Avengers and Wanda vision her Power level is insane.

Series is really picking up now, but i think they did themselves a disservice with the 1st 2 episodes (maybe 3!)

I know a few people who never made it past episode 2, even stopped at episode 1 - it really was painful viewing at the time.

But for those that have stuck with it, the pay off has been great.

Oh well, sucks to be them if they have the attention span of a Gnat.

Agnes doesn't seem 'Immune' - she literally sounds like a hired actress? She was saying "Shall we take it from the top"

If you give up on a show after 2 episodes then you weren't the target audience for it anyway.

Pretty sure the target audience is "everyone". There are rumours that Disney was ecstatic with their Disney+ subscriptions after the last episode of the Mandalorian, and hoped to hold onto that with Wandavision, but have seen a massive drop off as people cancelled their subscriptions to Disney+ because Wandavision simply didn't grab them when it needed to after Mandalorian finished.

It's a shame, because it looks like this could be what Marvel are using to integrate X-Men and mutants generally, and some of the other Fox characters such as Deadpool into the Disney owned MCU.

This is definitely not aimed at everyone, people under a certain age won't even understand the sitcom references and you pretty much have to have seen a lot of the MCU films. That is a very large barrier to entry, more so than Mandalorian.

I watched 2 episodes and I'm not sure I want to watch anymore. It's painful.

It's not about having an attention span of a gnat. It's painful to watch IMO. I'm not a fan of American sitcoms to begin and that's likely half the issue.

I'll press on with it....

first 2 episodes were quite rubbish but it’s picking up now. I do think it would benefit from binge watching rather than one a week

I really think they could have overcome the tediousness of the first few episodes in making them double the length. They still would have been meh but over quicker and onto the juicy stuff. Apparently was initially going to be 6 episodes and i think that would have been a lot more palatable that how it started off. I know a few people who were really put off and didnt bother past episode 2.

If I hadn't read on here that it picked up after the first 2 episodes we'd have sacked it off after the first one. It was a very strange way to start off a series where most of the viewers probably aren't going have ever been interested in the old sitcoms.

People: "Whaaaa! Shows are so formulaic and predictable! Boooo!"
Studio: *tries something different*
People: "WTF is this? Nothing makes sense instantly! Reeeeee!"

:D

I understand what they were trying to do but timing/pacing is everything, it felt like a joke that went on far too long until it became tedious. The talent show in EP2 wtf, whats the point.

Reminds me of what you used to see for GoT. First half of a new season people would be moaning about not enough action, nothing is happening, then pay offs come through and it's the best show ever. Build hype for next season, rinse and repeat.
Then you get a final season of nothing but set pieces and look how that pans out.

I really enjoyed the first episodes that mirrored the shows of the era they were depicting of idyllic Americana. But always with something sinister going on in the background... At barely 30 min runtimes it's hardly a slog to sit through.
