**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

keep getting random bugcheck errors - I tried bumping VSSA/VCIO a little bit but I'm guessing its Volts to the DIMMS that the issue ?

sometimes happens after 1 hour of stress-testing - sometimes 30 hours - completely random

4x4gb, was trying for 9-11-11-11-24-1T @ 1.6V (1.605V in bios reading) @ 2200

I didn't really want to go above 1.6V - that said I tried 1.57V reviously and didn't really seem any less or more stable

currently dropped to 10-11-11-11-24-1T - but wondered what people though - ie if RAM or CPU IMC more likely ?

8gb or 16gb? if 8gb 1.55v should be ok for cas10 timings,might need more for cas 9

16gb youll need more than 1.55v maybe more than 1.62v dram voltage

and one/two clicks more than stock 1.05v cpu imc voltage

its either not enough dram voltage or vccsa/vccio

or too much

you only need small amounts more than what stock uses,

for 2133mhz id try 10-11-11-24-1t timings and 1.6v dram voltage and 1.06v vccio(whatever the 1.05v stock is) as asus switch round what they label imc as,it can be vccsa or vccio

Ahhh this thread has returned!! I searched for it the other day but couldn't find it at all :(

Will have a good read of this now :)

thanks wazza - seems it just didn't like 2200 @ 1T so much

I tried at 1.6V - (my personal limit) - bumping VCCIO, VCCSA, dropping to 10-11-11-24 etc - so it wasn't even happy at CAS10 at 1.6V - tried raising REF Cycle from 165 to 200 too

to no avail- I hadn't realised in any of these cases that although pretty stable in normal use etc, memtest stable, it was falling over on small prime within 40 seconds !!!

need to do more tests - but seems much happier at 2133

I've dropped VCCIO down further, as well as dropped VCCSA, dropped RAM Volts to 1.55V yet it still seems happy

@ 2133 9-11-11-22-1T and further tightened REF Cycle to 128

Z77 is actually easier to clock RAM on than X79. IMC on Ivy is stronger.

I've heard that elsewhere. What's most likely to be stopping me getting ~2400Mhz with my 3820 and 4x4gb sammys?

So far I've tried VCCSA and VTT up to 1.25v (watercooled) and timings of 11-11-11-28-2T with 1.65v. No dice on large memory settings in IBT. Drop to 2052Mhz and all is fine.

Mobo is RIVF.

Would you say that's OK for 24/7 use because of a bit of vdroop to 1.65v?

Having said that I think I might of seen people saying that 1.75v was absolute max on these.

They dont scale after 1.75v so no point adding more. 1.675 would be fine for me yes. But its your RAM not mine.

Installed 4x4GB of this recently into an Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 with i5 2500k (stock for this testing)

1866MHz 9-9-9-21-1T at 1.35V and stock CPU volts is fine. But having big trouble getting 2133Mhz stable.

10-11-11-30-2T at 1.64V and 1.2V VTT is Windows/game stable but fails P95 Blend after some time. Tried slackening down to 11-12-12-31-2T and even upping VCCSA from stock to 1.2V, still get a rounding error eventually.

Any ideas what to try next, wasn't too keen on going to 1.67v DRAM or 1.25v VTT as I want this for 24/7 use. Secondary timings perhaps?

Here's what it trains to @ 2133;
