Want an extra 5GB storage with Dropbox?

Same, my 'Camera Uploads' folder is now over 6gb and I'm 500MB down also.

Are you using OSX?

Nope, Win7 64bit. I'm gonna try a fresh install on my work PC and upload one big file and see what that does. If that doesn't work I'll just wait and see if this bug fix they were talking about has any effect.

That's not a bad idea. I've uploaded only JPEG and NEF (Nikon RAW) files, so maybe uploading a single larger video file may work?

Let me know if they fix the bug, as it would be nice to get that extra 500mb. :)
 
I had no problem getting all 5gb, i dodnt even have to upload the full files, just deleted them from dropbox folder once they had started to upload
 
Uploaded some photos and a 20 minute 1080p video of my wall last night and went from 2GB to 4GB. I got 500MB initially and then it was 4GB in total this morning when the video had finished uploading.

I've deleted those files and uploaded some more pics as well as the video's sequel; a 35 minute version of the same wall. :D However I get a warning that my limit is near and that I should pay for a package. Is this the bug that is listed on the Dropbox forum where they say they'll add the space later? I'd like to get as much of the 5GB on offer as I can. :)

I had the same problem. What fixed it for me was to put a 2GB mpg in a DCIM folder that I created on a USB stick. I also had to do it with a 2GB jpeg (there's a cheaty way of making huge files posted on the previous page). I think they have to be separate uploads as well.

Ah. So if I copied the 35 minute video from earlier tonight to the DCIM folder on my phone's SD card I'd be onto a winner?

Duh! The video's already in a sub-folder of DCIM. How dense can I be? :p
 
I can't get this work. :(

Tried on two PC's - Vista64 and XP.
Tried installing as admin.

Autorun doesn't show an option to improt to dropboc.
My dropbox doesn't have a 'Camera Uploads' folder.

Stupid question but have you got the beta version of Dropbox from the forums?
 
Thanks OP, i got to 7.5gb :)

I had a few problems getting it to run, but a restart fixed it for me and then it showed up in autorun options, (i clicked on "ask me every time"), then dropbox shows up in the list.

I just transfered a few movies onto my phone 2gb SD card, then dropbox grabbed them, then i cancelled them after a few mins, but i did also do the same with loads of pics as well.


Anyone know how to do this on a Mac with a Blackberry phone?
everytime i connect the BB to the Mac, the BB software loads up, and there are no options for dropbox.
Even turning off the BB manager shows nothing :confused:

I have a SanFran (CM7) and a couple of Android tablets (1.6 & 3.2)

where can I get the beta app for them?
