Warhammer 40k book recommendations

Has anyone bought the first rare HH book the one about the salamanders i think. They only made like 3000 copies, did anyone here bother getting it, i wish i knew about.
They are bringing out another HH book thats only gonna be 3000 copies which is meant to be due soon, but its like £30.
 
Finished reading A Thousand Sons last night, what a really good book, i really want to know what happens next with them. It really has been left with a bit of a climax.
Next one is Nemesis which sounds pretty interesting on the back cover.
 
I just ordered Promethean Sun Gold Edition on ebay for £80:eek::rolleyes::cool:
There was only 3000 copies so its quite hard to find, i wish i preordered it at £30. Anyone here read it what do you think, also when do i read it, or can i read anytime in the Horus Hersesy series.

Also i had a look at the promethean sun book and it was written after Age Of Darkness. I know its not a follow on, and i can read it anytime but i might just wait till i get to that book. Still on Nemesis, im enjoying it im only on page 153 but its very different to the others. Its more of a detective book, so i cant wait to find out how the book develops.
 
Well its been a while lets see, ive finished reading Nemesis and really liked it with the assassins and murders etc.
I also bought myself a kindle and bought the next book the first heretic with it. I finished it about two nights ago. At first i wasnt looking forward to reading it as it was about the word bearers. Which before this book they sounded a bit boring and not much was said about them.
But i was wrong, the first heretic is one of my fav in the series and i think the word bearers are my second fav chapter. My first fav chapter is the space wolves, which im makes me happy as i just started reading Prospero Burns.

Anyway whats everyone else reading atm?:)
 
Another Collectors Edition novel coming out called Catechism of Hate its space marine battle novel. Its out on the 6th so...tomorrow:D
Ill be getting i think im really hooked on wh40k novels now:)
 
Finished reading Prospero Burns, if i had to give it a score i would say 6.5/10 maybe a 7/10 but thats pushing it. The book started off average really, and it was a little hard to follow whats going on. But i did enjoy some of the characters and it was quite an interesting insite to the battle on prospero rather than the thousand sons side. I did learn lots of stuff about my fav chapter the space wolves and i do think their still the best.
Anyway gonna start reading Age of Darkness tonight see how i get on.
 
Finished Age Of Darkness last night, i really enjoyed the short stories. I enjoyed the Dark Angels story with Lion and the gang. Also world eaters i really think there the best bad guys out of all the loyalist chapters.

Anyway decided to make a start on my Collectors editon books:
Promethean Sun
Aurelian

Anyway i read about 20 pages of PS and it reminded me of predator;) The books is only a 124 pages so i should finish it before the end of the week. Then ill make a start on Aurelian.

Has anyone read the Ultramarines books? I think Dead Sun, Black Sky is possibly the most grotesque thing I've ever read. Some of the imagery in it is worse than any horror film I've seen, I've felt a bit ill at times reading it :/

Ive got a question its a very minor spoiler, it might not even be one but here goes:
In the book Fulgrim the Primarch fights an avatar, and from my limited knowledge their like a demigod. Anyway on the cover of Aurelian you can see an Avatar getting killed by someone other primarch. So how many of these avatars is there and what are they about?
