Wait so ^That^ has happened before?

Sheets of orange race across the horizon during the most spectacular display of the aurora borealis seen in southern England for 153 years.

Who told you this?

The OP will:

1) Grow up one day and realise what a gullible fool he was.
2) He will contiune with his ways and nothing will change and people will point and laugh even harder than they are now
3) He will be proved right and he will laugh at us all in his foil hat as our brains are sucked out by pythons.

To my mind 3 is highly unlikely so I will go with 1 as based on my experience to date its always 1....or 2 but never 3.

Definitely. I certainly feel something big is coming in 2012. I've been told by someone in the know that the electricity and power will be cut for 6 days on dec 21 2012 and there will be possible wide scale pandomonium when our solar system aligns with the center of galaxy for the first time in 10,000s of years. Though it won't be the end of the world, just some big changes.

Jebus H Christ!

The Spurs ITKs have turned their hand to predicting the apocalypse.

As our solar system aligns with the center of the milky way it will create a large conscious shift on our planet that will both positive for some and negative for others.

What's a "consciousness shift", and why would it be caused by the alignment of planets?

EDIT Also check The Mayan Calendar comes North on google video.

Why the Mayan calendar? Why not some other calendar? What's so special about the Mayan calendar?

That the Aurora Borealis has been said in England? It wouldn't particularly surprise me, you can see it often in the Scandanavian countries and even on the Northern tip of Scotland so on occasion I wouldn't be totally dumbfounded if it could be seen dahn sarf. :)

Because the Mayan calendar happens to end relatively soon and is a convenient point to tack an apocalypse on to? Call me cynical if you will but it's just a thought...

In terms of the Mayan culture, the creator gods Gucumatz and Hurricane apparently created human beings out of fruit, cacao (chocolate), fruits and maize.

I find it strange how people who believe in the Mayan calendar tend to ignore all the nonsense that accompanies the culture. Surely this casts some doubt over the legitimacy of their claims. Are we expected to accept that the Mayans, who thought people were made out of chocolate, knew precisely when the end of the world would happen? :)

To suggest that the Mayans perceived such a creation myth in a metaphorical manner is incorrect, as they believed in it literally.

Good point, that is on a par with genesis for sheer CERAAAZY!

You may not believe this, but a friend's Dad (who believes in this) has brought a small boat that is currently being kept in a dry dock. He thinks that this boat will help his family to survive the impending tsunami.

You can't win. If you try to point out that his theory may be incorrect, then the fear, aliens etc. are controlling you, leaving you with the only option of agreeing with him, thus confirming his own close-mindedness.

2012 will generaly be a positive experience. The rapid chnages that are coming may be to much for many people who aren't expecting it though.

Please explain this, and the "when our solar system aligns with the center of galaxy" statement. Do you actually bother to think about the stuff you read, or is the fact it's posted on a non-mainstream media website enough for you to swallow it whole?

I'm sorry, I'm almost certain I'll regret this but I've just got to ask why does he think a small boat will help him and his family survive? My reason for asking is that the destructive power of a tsunami is likely to overwhelm any small craft as easily as if it were not there so you see the reason for my curiousity.

I pointed this out to him, but I think he aims to sail out into the middle of the Atlantic Ocean so that he only faces the crest of the wave, and not when it actually crashes on the shore (where he will be on its trough). I've heard of people surviving tsunamis far out at sea in this way, but I think this one might be a little bit too big :D. In addition, the boat is too small (as you say) and crap.

A small boat would probably fare much better than a larger one on such a huge swell. It'd simply "ride" the wave.

I don't think it's a good idea though.:)
