Was i wrong?

You did right!!!

Plain and simple you'r there to get a grade and a good one at that it's costing you around £20k plus to be there. When I was at Uni we accepted 2 guys in we didn't wont. Guess what we failed that module (had to do a very similar piece of coursework over the summer and passed with great marks on my own.). Because of there ineptitude. If you think someones going to pull your grade down, simple kick them out. It's not worth the risk.

The idea is in the REAL world you don't get to pick and choose who you work with.

no, but few places where you can mess up like at uni. Some students just don't give a flying ****, where as 99.9% of people in a position to lose there job do care enough to not screw up completely.

I don't blame you, to be fair I wouldn't want anyone from the Isle of Sheppy in my group either.. :p

Sounds a bit harsh though, wouldn't have done that personally, but even if he kicks off you won't be able to understand him anyway so no loss there.

I had a week long field course to do that constituted an entire module of my course.

I got put into a group with a lot of the foreign guys on the course, and ones that plainly were at Uni for a good time to boot.

I barely scraped that module because the rest of my group couldn't use the equipment, I couldn't explain it to them, and trying to communicate via radios etc. was fruitless.

I've decided from now on that Number 1 comes first, even if it means offending a few people on my course, as there is no way im putting the outcome of my degree in the hands of guys that can't even talk English again.
