Was mad?

MM bumping :D

We've all be there. ;)

I'll never forget the day i posted a shocked smiley face in Rusty's MM thread as i couldn't believe the closet Nvidia fan boi (yes i went there :D) was selling his beloved 680's. How he gloated afterwards when i got suspended. :p

If it was Huddy i might have had a chance. He has a soft spot for old LT i reckon. Anyway those days are behind me im an upstanding citizen now and on the 17th of august i will have a clean name.

The OP has some time away from the forum to install the waterblock, take some good pics for us and get some good benching numbers to publish upon his return :D :p :D

So
Bad news

The cards second gpu would cause crashing in heaven and its vram flashing textures in games.
The first core was fine though.

After much emailing and phone calls I managed to get vtx3d to accept it for RMA via the uk distribution center.

They have tested it and confirmed its faulty but have 0 stock of the older vx7990 and its now end of life so they are contacting vtx3d foe what to do.

Hopefully vtx3d has some stashed away they can send or will exchange it for a newer amd 7990, but that would leave me with a very expensive waterblock that has no use!

Will wait and see

Oh and when useing just the one core the gpu would do 1320mhz and vram 1870 which scored 2296 on vally ;)

Ah unlucky. Fair play to them for accepting the rma though. At worst id suggest you'd get two 7970's. You could always sell them on for a profit. :D

Yea i suppose, But for now i think i will push for a replacement dual core card.

I'm sure VTX3D will have some hidden away in the main store for RMA's and the like, its just getting VTX3D to reply to emails and then them sending a card all the way from tiwan or whereever it is they are based.

Im in this for the long haul as i still have the 7970 to play games on :D

VTX were gash when I used them back in the 6870 days. Didn't want to know when I had a fan blade issue. Would't use them again. Gigabyte for me from now on.

Yea from reviews it seems people have a hard time getting VTX3D to do anything, But i was a pest and got the Main VTX3D UK Distributor involved.
All VTX3d Products originate from this supplier according to VTX3D emails i have.

Update
VTX3D have said they are awaiting the card to arrive at the eu rma center.
Once its retested they will authorise a replacement from germany stock.

But can be 1-2 weeks for this process but they will contact me next monday with an update

Hmm
Seems the rma center pulled a uturn.
They say its not faulty???
I think they only tried one monitor and proberly didnt enable crossfire lol.

Dunno how they can say its fine when one dp port will stop working after a couple mins and the second gpu fails in games!

Not mentioning the fact if gpu 2 is overclocked by 1mhz the card crashes snd the 2nd gpus voltage control is broken

Hopefully they test it like I asked them two.
