Wasteland ARMA II Mos : Server Details

If anyone gets turbo bored:

Empty map of Chernarus, place down 100 markers in the editor on roads/crossroads (any sensible place a vehicle would spawn) called "spawn_1" to "spawn_100". Easy way of doing this would be to create 1 marker off the map called "spawn_0", copy this and then paste in another 100. This will auto rename the marker everytime you past it in. Delete the "spawn_0" when all 100 are down.

Would save me time tomorrow when I have to add in 700+ markers on on the map. Just had to delete 500+ markers that were at random positions. FML.
 
Bananaaa / Jewish Afghan / Jewish Pakistani whatever you want to call yourself, what you fail to mention is, despite being one of the first "groups" on the server most of you, and i'll be specific in saying you, have been banned and kicked multiple times for being abusive, trolling, calling us ****s, saying you'd rather play on the russian server because this one is **** and the list goes on.

I dont have an issue with you or your group playing on the server, but if you want to continue to do so have some respect for the people who put their time and money into running the server, stop being abusive, stop whinging, stop trolling or go play somewhere else. No one is forcing you to play here.

Going back to the past, I never once got banned, or said the server was **** or said id rather play on the russian server.

I only tried putting in a simple suggestion, I appreciate what Marker, Melbo, CAI, Jason and co do to run the server, just don't appreciate demeaning comments in return when I do make a suggestion. As Jason and ToejaM are discussing, like adults right now, my original suggestion.

It wasn't a YOU MUST do this, just a what if you made more slots available and Jason gave valid points to not do so.

Just need to give a little more respect to suggestive comments that's all.

Not tackled the bmps yet. Going to get this new version working 100% then look at sorting them. Still waiting for Jason to put down those 100 markers for me...
 
Although random is generally better, it will be interesting to see what the server fps is after you change it. Currently the more players on the more useless the AI become. 9 times out of 10 they don't even shoot back.

I really would like the missions to require some team work or at least make it a damn hard fight for anyone going solo :)

For example the other night when only about 25 players on the bloody AI blew up SUV from about 300m out with an RPG.
 
I don't think it will improve server fps all that much to be honest. There's still going to be the usual grinding down nonsense that cripples the ai.

The only fix is the mod version :-(
 
Its quite a pain when sometimes the people you play with have a limited time and to play and you can get on the server but not into a group you want to be with. I like indy because there is way more targets and I dont have to mute everyone on my team everytime I join :D

Should use teamspeak mate and just mute voice in-game.Get one of the admisn to password a room for ya;)

No power has gone to my head. Its a game, on the Internet. But it is one that all the Admins put time and their own money into running.

Have our own teamspeak bud :) i like hearing people on direct, there are a lot that use the ingame properly and its funny hearing the rage when people call you out without meaning to thinking they can only be heard in their group or side chat, plus thy can still hear you briefly and its good to hear what they say back :D

Playing on one of the teams is far too much hassle.. Know how I like to play, the indy groups are perfect, people who play on the bigger teams lack skill.. Zerg ftw! I dont mind though, just means all the extra ammo I carry gets a turn on the slide.

Basically it means another server instance connects to the main one and solely runs the ai.

In other news, the vehicle respawn thing I was working on totally doesn't work!
 
How much of a ball ache is it going to be get a headless client working? The changes we have added tonight is all for nothing with the AI monging out.
 
Like what you lot did with the airfields,I think Nash and Leon died like +3 times trying to get into the base.I bailed after getting a warning shot from the BMP :D
Has anyone got a list of what else has been removed or put in?
 
I'll work on it tonight mate.

My first release of my heli tracking system is finished, so I have time to see if I can get it implemented.

  • Players now start with 1 bandage
  • Bmp's now engage every faction (as you no doubt found out)
  • Sd weapons now drop in buildings with sd ammo
  • Ak 107 PSO added to drop list
  • More engineer/Medic slots for Opfor/Blufor
  • The NW and NE airfields each now sport a small platoon of infantry defending a fortified base. Each airfield also has a bmp-2, a helicopter, and a few squads of infantry patrolling its perimeter. Any faction member coming close will be met with extreme force.
 
Oi Robin FU!! Just could not get the drop on your T72 last night.

I need to speak to Richie, 99% sure he was hitting 1k away with the SMAW, yet mine were detonating short of the target from only 700-800m out :|

Lol I was gunning in that last night surprised we lasted so long with the amount of people around novy and stary!

Was good fun though :-)
