Wasteland ARMA II Mos : Server Details

Came back playing after couple months off and it is the same old ********. Getting killed inside gun store or hackers. Not saying its your fault but mostly hackers really keep me away from this game/wasteland. Waiting for final version of Arma 3 to be released.
 
We dropped our wasteland server we just couldnt populate it and we're too focused on Epoch tbh :)

MBS is the place to be for Wasteland :D
 
BMP-2 came in, we hopped into our car and started to drive away and BMP gunner shot us. We were still inside gun store area when we were killed.

The best thing you can do is jump onto our teamspeak and notify an admin. Anybody with server admin also has in game admin rights and can kick/ban.

haha, blame melbo for that one. I like them though. We have them on hourly respawns and I set them to spawn with next to no ammo, fuel and hull in the red. They're actually pretty fun, people seem to like them being in as it gives them a chance to have the odd dogfight and shoot them down with stingers/the AA truck.

Speaking of which, we should get a change log up for that update D:

Sadly had my night ruined by some guy called Acid Snake.

TK'd me for 'his gun' as he died during a previous TK incident. Sadly no admins were on or cared. Seems like a silly thing but when you have as little time to play as I do it's ***** like this that can completely ruin a server for you. Seems he may be a regular?

Come onto ts and poke/pm one of us, or all of us, somebody WILL respond. I dealt with a situation like this less than ten minutes ago because the affected people came onto ts and told me, and it was quickly resolved. I don't recall seeing acid snake on the server before, but, even if it was a regular, they'd still get kicked for that.

Last night was the first decent playtime I've put into Wasteland for quite a while, and it was brilliant! Lots of OPFOR air superiority including air-to-air combat, was rather awesome!

Shame this doesn't have something like Battlerecorder, would have loved to see my AH6J hover CAS at Kamenka from a different angle!
 
Had a bit of an idea for wasteland I want to throw out there (and get flamed for). It is by no means a fully thought out idea, nor do I have any clue as to the dynamics/feasibility of implementing (server overheads etc). I've also no idea if this has been thought of or discussed in the past.

Basically I'm thinking along the lines of villages, towns and cities being capturable by factions. Almost Planetside2 esque. Once captured there can be a number of AI (increasing by size of urbanisation) that spawn in to support/protect the faction that has captured the area.

A faction can capture an enemy territory by clearing all AI and having more players in the area than the team that currently holds that area for x amount of time.

What benefits there are to capturing an area I've no idea, but thought I would throw it out there and see what the community has to say.

Just a reminder there is now custom invite groups available to all factions now on our Wasteland server, inde, opfor and bluefor.

Smashed the target for donations last month so thanks again everyone and we have received lots of positive feedback regarding the mission file. So shout out to Melbo/Marker for their work on that.

Fresh donation appeal for month 16th May to 16th of June is up:

Also very good post from someone called "Pride" perhaps more regulars would like to contribute to the feedback he provided.

I am no longer writing any part of the mission. My final build was emailed to Melbo last week, with the final bug fixes in place.

Melbo & now Jason are taking to do with the mission now...

Look for Warfare Benny's Edition. Was on one of the secondary MBS servers but they're no longer up I believe. It's quite good fun actually but can take quite a while to get going! ;)

A mix between the two could create a good mission though!

Warfare BE is the one to go for if you're into that kind of thing. Its a fair bit different to wasteland, less 'survival sandbox', more 'all out WWIII mission'. I did a breakdown/incoherent ramble of how the mission plays here. If it takes your fancy, look for the two 'Neptune Warfare' severs as they are the most popular. Admins are a bit useless (french :p) but yell at em enough and they generally respond. Plenty of regulars on there, most are pretty decent people...
