Watch Dogs

After watching the latest videos I'm starting to warm to this. I'm going to wait for reviews and other people's opinions before buying it, however.

Still on the fence with this...

What edition are you guys going for, the one with ATM hack seems sensible for extra cash.

I can't even figure out which is which any more or which retailers are selling which versions.

Standard Edition
Special Edition
Steelbook Edition
Uplay Exclusive Steelbook Edition
Vigilante Edition
Vigilante Edition Plus Downtown Pack
DedSec Edition

After buying Infamous on pre-order and being dissapointed by that, I'm tempted to cancel my pre-order of this and just wait for the general concensus . I can see it being a repetitive bore like Infamous to be honest. May as well wait, then buy 2nd hand really. I do have it at £42 on pre-order with Amazon though.

Do the different editions actually have any different in gameplay, or is it the usual collector crap they pack games with for the real nerds? :p

The only reason I am getting the Deadsec edition is the additional missions that it has (yes they will probably be released later as DLC but I want it at the start).

The vigilante version with the downtown pack at GAME is just a normal vigilante bundle with a crappy jumper.

So there are infact 5 editions:

Standard Editon
Special Edition with Breakthrough singleplayer mission
Vigilante Edition with cap and mask and Palace Pack singleplayer mission
Deadsec Edition which is the top edition with a load of other stuff along with the Breakthrough, Palace Pack & Signature Shot singleplayer DLC's.
Uplay Edition available from Uplay direct in a steel case with the three singleplayer DLC items and all singleplayer skins.

The Uplay edition seems like the best one to get if you don't want all the extra stuff and just the missions, I might get that instead of the Deadsec edition.

That answers my Q thanks. For £87 though  I'll just get the standard version and the addons in DLC like you said. Thanks.

I ordered with the easter 10% off so it's only £80 and got a few points so it knocks it down a little.

The Uplay version definitely seems like the best out of the bunch without the other naff merchandise, thanks for pointing it out.

Seems they have sold out of the current gen versions of the Uplay edition sadly.

i just preordered the deadsec edition £99 from very lol
i know £99 but this game is going to be big the more vids i see the more i like, PS4 ;)

Most people ordering from very are doing so because they wants to split down a game over three monthly instalments. Needs must and all I guess, although if I had to do that I don't think I'd be gaming in the first place. Not saying that is the reason.

Yes... can't make my mind up about this one at all.

It's clearly looking a lot better visually but I am unsure about the gameplay and whether or not it is going to hold my attention.

I will definitely wait to read reviews etc before hopefully making an informed decision.

I think it could be a fun to start and the repetitive and boring game. A few alarm bells were triggered that it's following the usual Ubisoft template with the generic item names (expensive timepiece found) a familiar minimap, familiar movement and no doubt a lot of borrowed elements from their other games.
I worry it's one of those that appear to be really in depth but is actually just disguised and involves a lot of shallow time fillers like hacking x amount of terminals, finding antique items etc etc.
