Watch Dogs

So, who's pre-ordered and who's waiting a day or so for reviews ? I want to get it on day one but will wait.

AC 3 was such a poor performer on PC for me, I got AC 4 on PS4 after that and that seemed to zip along lovely in 1080p think it was 30fps but felt a lot smoother. Didn't play AC 4 on PC due to AC 3 being so laggy and running so poorly at 1080p for me.

If watch dogs reviews well, I might be tempted by the Ps4 version, 900p 30fps is fine as this is what BF4 ran at and that game looked pretty good in places IMO.

I'm also waiting for reviews. I don't see it being awful, but I think the best it's likely to be is an 8/10 and I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see lower scores. I know that's being pessimistic but even the previews seem to point towards the fact that it's not living up to the ambitious trailers and previews they'd shown off previously.
 
Echo the comment on how Beta players are finding the game?

I don't have it on order but I'm interested in seeing what it's like. Was never hyped up about it during those early days and have no real interest in resolution either.

1 point on resolution I always think about when people constantly go on about it - I find games to be set in such dark environments these days that it doesn't matter at all. I'm getting a bit sick of it to be honest. Everything seems to be in drab places, at night or in dark corridors. I used to always play games with standard brightness settings...these days it's at 90-100% on most!!

Or maybe it's just the type of games I'm drawn to - meaning i'm my own worst enemy. lol



I have this on my rental list for now, but interested to see if it's worth buying if it has longevity

So at best it's going to be a very good game and at worst it's going to be a good game then?

Seems like there is every reason to buy it then.

For a game that was as hyped as much as it was, 8/10 and below is very likely to be enough to dissuade people from buying it, at least right away.
 
shall wait for cheap ebay pre-owned, getting fed up of overpriced games just because it's a new console. Plus Mario Kart 8 is out which is a far better game, lol

8/10 will do me fine. I'm a big fan of open world games, and I like the hacking/steampunk themes in the game. I think only a bunch of mediocre reviews would cause me to cancel my order.

Indeed. Some PS3 games have a higher trade in value than PS4 now :D

Probably pick this up on PC though at < half the price of PS4. Although may run like **** as it's a Ubi port
