Watch Dogs

GAME really are scumbags, I just ordered Watch Dogs with Amazon as I had noticed game were giving a pre order bonus of the untouchables pack, but this is now part of the season pass so no need to order with them, GAME also do a 'special edition' which includes the breakthrough pack, which guess what, also comes with the season pass.

Still they'll no doubt scam thousands of un-knowing parents/kids.

What about people who don't want the season pass?

just buy the normal game then.

if you don't want the season pass then your not interested in additional content therefore your only interested in the normal game on it's own with no add-ons.

it's a bit like BF4 with premium or COD with map packs and season passes.

if you buy them separately one at a time, it's always much more expensive. Best to buy all of them or none at all.

Without trawling through 25 pages of chatter, where is the best place to guarantee delivery for this on the 27th, and amongst all of the various versions, which is the best bang-for-buck?

nobody can guarantee delivery for 27th, some retailers have a history of posting early but it's certainly not guaranteed in any way it's luck and educated guesswork.

the only guarantee for launch would be buying direct from PSN store or popping into your local supermarket or games shops

Best bang for your buck is standard edition and season pass.

I've been using shopto for the last 3 years or so and have yet to not get a game/console on release day. Sometimes earlier. They're not the cheapest anymore - they used to be one of the best price wise - but they get all my orders for games I absolutely must have launch day.

For all the red flags I think im going to buy this but as im going all digital this gen I'm going to hold off from the midnight purchase and see the first reviews and then buy it once the reviews come out and set it downloading, I may well move to the USA for the day as ive used up all but £5 of my MS credit, that or CDKeys credit at a discount.
Of course if the reviews are all dreadful then i'll hold off.
Anyone got any idea on download size? typical 30+gb id guess?

If it wasnt for the complete lack of games I want then this wouldnt have risen as high on my list but frankly none of the Next Gen machines have anything to make them worth having right now. Im sure there was allot more games out by this time in the cycle last time round.

Or just buy it on disc, play it and sell it/trade it in.

Without bothering to look it up, I can't think of anything that was out on either the PS3 or 360 within the first 12 months that stood out. At least this gen we've had some quite big names within the first 6 months e.g. Battlefield, Infamous etc.

You maybe right but I remember buying a lot more games or at least it felt like it.

It also felt like more people were buying the latest consoles, most of my friends are "holding off" on both PS4 and Xbox this time round, in fact more of my gamer friends are pushing PC these days. Guess I'm lucky to have feet in all camps.

The 360 was a barren wasteland for months after launch.
