I have to admit, and this is coming from a triple fanboy, I always roll eyes when someone says isheep, or apple fanboy....yet hearing some people talk about the watch has changed my mind.

This watch looks awful......is only down to the fact it's wearing an apple logo that people are loving it.

If google released this, everyone would be saying how bad it was.

Yes
Especially considering there is still no good way of carrying my iPhone around with me when running...

I've been using my nike sport watch which is great but I miss the music. I hate carrying things around with me and I never find armbands are any good

Have you thought about a bum bag? I use a small waterproof one that straps round my waist and is big enough to carry my phone, keys and emergency cash! I can even plug my headphones in and zip it up, works for me :)

I'm falling out of love with Apple and watches just don't interest me :(

I quite agree. I think it has functionality but not style (a possible first for apple?). Look forward to Gen 2 though to see where they go with it and if it actually takes off.

I'm sure the interface and software will be well thought through, but it isn't a winner in the looks department compared to what else is out there.

You can see why they're hiring all those fashion designers - stick to phones and iPods Mr Ives!

It is awful looking, the moto/lg round faces are miles ahead in the looks department. For the price a 'square' android version is much better.

I just don't know what Apple was thinking here.

I think its clear the personal opinions differ.

I personally think it looks fine, its hardly that much different to the likes of the Nike Sportwatch I use for running and its far better looking than the Garmins I used to use as well. It certainly fits the style for being a sports watch and honestly, I think this will be the primary target audience for the product, which is why Tim Cook focused quite heavily on that aspect at the end.

Watch is just daft. Such a waste of time and money I generally like Apple gear and have owned their computers for 25 years. That ridiculous watch is one product I shall pass on.

Cool i can get my casio calculator watch out again and look cool in the 21st century

So let me get this right, this looks horrible, has the same battery life as a 360, yet costs £100 odd pounds more...

lol

Incorrect.

The looks are a personal preference.

There is no information about battery life because its not even a final product going to market yet.

There is also no information about what it will cost.

I hate smart watches in general and would never wear one. I think they all look crap whether it's apple, samsung, Motorola etc . A smart watch for me appeals as much as wearing a bluetooth headset lol.

However this will sell like hot cakes. I guarantee you will see loads of teenagers and "hipsters" wearing these because it's an apple product.

Let's face it, the reality is Apple have a following so strong that they will buy anything from apple.

From a design point of view I was expecting so see a lot more from Apple. Instead what we have seems to be the standard square approach that many smart watch manufacturers have already addopted.

Apple have a reputation of taking an exisitng product and completely refining it both from a design and functional view point. But honestly, I think they have fallen short of their past sucesses. Makes you wonder though if any of the big/expensive watch manufacturers will actually take the smart watch seriously and develop their own, rather than the tech giants taking over.

We all have an idea what apple will do; slim down, bigger screen, more accessible, they could most likely do this now but they have to keep us hooked each year. Thats why the apple watch looks very iphone 1st gen. Imagine if it was this from 1st gen with the round screen =

Good god i would buy it straight away. One day ago I was not annoyed that a watch like this does not have the features of a apple watch, now I am.

Kinda see why they got into the iPhone's having a gold option last year, it was brought in for the watch 100% so we'd already be familiar. I like enjoy their design philosophy. Sometimes, I compare it to a Breaking Bad episode.
