Never read the books/novels but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The film work was stunning, the CGI and effects were jaw-dropping, and the acting all-round was pretty solid too. Although the movie was long and at times pretty slow, they did manage to span the action out well and they had a decent amount of character-building moments for all of the main guys - little bits here and there from the past and current.

Rorschach was fantastic in it I think... such a damn cool voice!

loved the film when i went to see it, and i suspect im going to love the film even more the 2nd time round !

yup

not particularly cheap, but round about the same price as the standard verion will be in HMV so im happy

. that and it'll be a week early lol

its a shame its not the ultimate cut though, but the length that version will be....jesus lol

Watched blu ray last night, never read the comics before and I was confused for a good part of it.
Jumping between different generations of watchmen/minutemen(?) was confusing. It took a long time to get into it but the best parts were probably the gory parts! Always nice seeing someone spit up their own teeth in a pool of blood.

Just watched all 3hr 6mins of the directors cut. It is a good film, loved the extra gore.

no, it doesnt. that'll be the ultimate cut due next year some time, at about 3 & 1/2 hours long.

talk about milking it lol

How does the directors cut compare the the cinema cut then, how much extra footage are we looking at?

186 minutes vs. 161 minutes I think. I haven't seen the film at all yet so my first viewing will be of the DC. If you have a Blu-Ray player import the disc from America.

Can't wait for the DC, the cinema cut was as close as i've ever got to watching a perfect movie, hope the DC expands on this!

Just watched it and thought it was great. I watched the director's cut and didn't think it was too long at all, although I don't mind long films (I love Seven Samurai and LOTR extended editions).

It's probably the best comic book film I've seen, way better than TDK. It's nice to watch a comic book film with a complex plot and well developed characters. I've heard people say it was confusing but I completely disagree, I thought it was easy to follow and wasn't confused once. The only thing I didn't understand was why they didn't explain how the characters got their powers, besides Dr. Manhattan of course. I guess I need to read the novels to find out this info.
