Watercooled Case Gallery

Lots of us running Tiny cases with an external rad now.
I have to say, it's something I am considering - or at least moving a radiator and reservoir/pump out of the case. I find the position of my reservoir in my PC-011D (mounted to fans on the side of the motherboard tray) means that I am very restricted in terms of GPU length. Fine if it's a GPU with a waterblock on it, but if it is a GPU that hasn't had a block fitted yet, it doesn't work.

I'm all up for seeing more pictures of the external solutions - particularly any DIY ones! :D

SFF builds, some people just love the compact builds, some have limited space on the desk so need funky ideas to make it work.

It was just the comment that it was the way to go, I get it works if you're going sff.

If I engage "when I was your age" mode I'd be saying I did several sffs with water back in the noughties but that's a different story :)

Installed a temp guage and cleaned the GPU Block.

After about 2 years with the pc being used quite a lot it had a weird build up of plasticer from my clear EK tubing or possibly fallout from the red coolant im not sure. Im using Alphacools EPDM now so hopefully this wont happen again. CPU Monoblock was fine.

One sensor in the res for liquid temp and one senor at the back of the case for exhuast temp.

Might need to get a 5mm offset for the inlet and outlet on the monoblock.

Heres my DIY external rad setup using the radiators I already had...
1x XT 45 420 1 x 280 Monsta both from Alphacool - 2 bits of straight alloy to hold them together and then both mounted on modded cheap TV Stand.

Finished this rig over the weekend. Some parts ordered from EK, but most from Overclockers (even some of the EK stuff). My 2nd cooling loop build, first one with a distro plate. Super happy with how it turned out.

It's certainly heavy, getting it up and down the stairs isn't something I'd ask someone else to do.

And thanks, I'm not a fan of hardline due to it's lack of practicality, but keeping the tubing runs like this means it's still quite tidy! At least in my opinion.

I do like yours, you've used those Neon Led strips nicely. Out of curiosity, why the big external rad on an otherwise compact system? For me, I'd either go compact with less cooling (more noise) or big with all the cooling. Not the combo of a small box with a big external radiator.

This one of the reasons i moved to SFF, my back injury made it impossible to move anything up and downstairs. I use to be able to move my O11D build up and down no problem but no chance now! SFF compact i can just about manage.

It's certainly very neat mate, the minimal tubing look is always nice to look at. Have you thought about using Bitspower Aqua Link adjustable fittings since your runs are so short? I suppose it still wouldn't be practical though if you're trying to keep it that way.

Thanks! As soon as i saw the nice flat space on either side i instantly thought about the Neon strips i had from my Evolv Shift X build. It worked out super well, all managed through Aqua Suite too.

I've had the Big radiator for just under 2 years now i think and it's just easier to keep using it instead of buying more rads to fit the role/case when i swap over. Also it makes tubing runs and planning so much easier, i don't have to worry about things not fitting plus the huge potential for cooling power when overclocking things.

This build has 2 parts but i've not finalised the second part yet. I'm in the process of acquiring of 240mm rad/pump combo which will allow me to quickly swap between desktop mode and portable mode via Quick disconnects and a mounting system. It's the mounting system im struggling with right now but once i have that sussed i will update here.

Been looking at the Aquacomputer AMS 240mm combo's for around £200/300 but hoping i can get it for less. There's also a Barrow variant with a built in DDC but the reviews are abit hit and miss with bleeding.

Hopefully I don't put something out of whack in the Gym so I can keep moving it around :D. I do see the benefit to just being able to plumb different computers into a big Rad, and with the rad pump combo giving you some portability, if you need it, that sounds like a good little set up. I'd not seen the Bitspower Aqua Link fittings, but I think I'm happier with the black tubing runs, it does grant me at least a little flexbility/practicality. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hope you can get the combo at the price you want, if I wasn't already into watercooling with so many fittings and parts (in general) I doubt I'd want to invest in it anymore, the expense just keeps going up and up. I've just set up my Fiances computer with a 360 AIO, and between that + the huge air cooler on the graphics card it's still quite quiet, quiet enough that I probably wouldn't bother nowadays.

Haha lets hope , easy enough to do when you're older! Can wake up with bloody back and shoulder ache randomly! Such a pain!

Yeah the flexibility of it and how its all set up right now makes everything so much easier, i've not had to mess around with complicated plumbing in awhile which is a huge bonus imo. The QD's are the biggest time savers here and the Koolance ones are the best quality i've seen so far. I had some Alphacool ones before but they broke after a few uses unfortunately.

I've only seen the Aqua link stuff recently, saw it in someone's build and it look really neat as the extended parts look like hardline tubing so it doesn't look out of place.

Same, i feel like if i hadn't invested so much already i definitely wouldn't bother now as aircoolers on both cpu's and gpu's are more than enough to keep things quiet. Especially how big gpu coolers are nowadays, with decent fans they are basically inaudible.

this one wipe my weekend out literally , back to work tomorrow :(

Order GPU block Tuesday as not released until 28th and more bolts to fit , eventually change fans to the lian li INF. Need new desk this week though as destroyed moving case around remove air bubbles lol

Phanteks D30's would look awesome in this build! Personally i would wait for them instead.
