Watercooling advice

Ah, on another e-tailers website they said Sapphire refused an RMA due to the card being water cooled (apparently taking off stock cooler voids the RMA) as i'm using a Sapphire card i'd rather wait to watercool it if it does indeed void warranty :p
buy from OcUK ;)

So will get W/c about Jan, then June or so stick the gfx card in the loop.

If not HAF X what case would you recommend (full tower) that isn't like £200

Was just looking for one about £140.

Slightly over, but:

Xigmatek Elysium?

See link above ;)

I like the look of the Xigmatek black.

Watching a 41 minute video on it now lol

Thanks :)

Would it be much easier to get watercooling in it than HAF X?

I believe theres room for a 420/360 radiator at the top and a 240 at the bottom with a psu. I'm still trying to find out if it can fit a 280 at the bottom with a psu but suspect it might be abit tight. Ppl have moded the bottom and the front of the case to take 360s and a 480 I believe. Can also fit a 140/120 radiator on the back. Theres plenty of room then for a pump and res.

Fair enough :p
But my HIS card was from OcUK. Fitted a waterblock, no problems with RMA. Zotac also allow it (officialy)
According to ScottiB (who works for MSI) they've never rejected an RMA due to a waterblock being fitted as long as there is no physical damage.
Apparently Gigabyte don't care, and Martini1991 said that Sapphire don't give a **** either :p

Should be put in an info thread that has all these sorts of hard to find information so that users can find it easily :)

All depends if they stick a warranty void sticker on a crucial screw to take off the shroud. If they don't then they wouldn't know if you watercooled it or just taken the shroud off to clean or put some better paste/pads on.

I'd alway buy from a less fussy manufacturer to avoid limiting your options in the first place.

a 420 and a 240 is more than enough, infact, a 420 alone will be enough TBH. an extra 120/140 wouldn't do any harm though...

That's a very good idea...

BTW, taking the cooler off for any reason voids warranty ;)

EDIT: thread made

£10 for 1m seems a waste :p

How many fans you reckon i'll need if i plan ongetting a 360 rad in that case? :p

3 for the rad unless you can do push/pull which will mean you'll need 6.

Just put fans where there's space and run them at low RPM's so you have some airflow for things that haven't been watercooled and they'll also look cool :D

£10 for 1m is a bargain!

I'll probably mount the PSU at top which gives

3x 120/140mm at bottom
2x 120/140mm at top

So will get 5x red LED 120/140mm fans I guess

I'll get the others with the w/c equip when I get it.
