Waterfox

Waterfox is backed by Mozilla so i'd imagine it's just as safe. Both browsers have a high reputation anyway so if there was any concern it would be well known by now.

Thanks for this, just trying it now, never heard of it before. Pages seem to render a bit faster but i can't tell too well at the moment because i am browsing through teamviewer from work to my home pc. But good thing is all the addons worked without any problems.

Tab animations when opening/closing have always been there :p

I think I will stick to Waterfox tbh, performance is no different but I guess that's due to the SSD!

I thought they might be! ¬_¬

:p

Definitely a lot more noticeable to me now though.

I will be sticking with the nightly/UX builds for the foreseeable future! Just seems much better overall in the performance area for me compared to all browsers. Also must note that it is extremely stable so far as well, not one problem/crash, I was expecting to get a couple of crashes or something going wrong.

Will still try the new updates for waterfox when they're released though.

Another mockup of the new UI, but this time the colour scheme is for private browsing mode. I like that a LOT! :D

EDIT:

How do i stop the tabs from changing size ?

What exactly do you mean? When you open a ton of tabs, they get smaller in length and when you close them, they go back to their normal length?

I think i'll stick with Chrome.

Except chrome started nagging me to use it and when it updated on my windows 7 laptop it corrupted the icon cache.

I'm using waterfox on my windows 7 system and I'm pretty happy with it except it can't be updated (I go to about waterfox and it keeps on telling me that it's up to date even though I'm still using 10.0 ).

Hmm, never experienced that issue with UX/nightly, waterfox or firefox builds. I use stratiform.

Could be a theme, try disabling it and see if the problem still occurs.

The new UI is just mockups for now but based on the australis theme. That mockup above is for private browsing mode and the standard mode will look something like one of these:

You can currently get a similar style using either:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/australis/?src=search

OR

http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/all/Australis

No black themed style like the above yet :(

@demonix

The auto check for updates didn't work for me on WF either (seems to work for some and not for others ). You have to download and install manually from the official WF site. Not much of a problem though, just a few more clicks involved :p

Hmm a reboot fixed the pinned sites issue I had, I guess something within Firefox bodged up somewhere when I installed UX with Waterfox installed as well.
