WC virgin needs some advice...

Quick update... It's filled with water. No leaks as yet (everything crossed) and I don't know if the pc is switched on!!!

The fan controller was a top tip (thanx Cleeecooo).

More updates and finished pics just as soon as leak test finished :)

looks great!!

But it really does need some of THIS

You are an evil man! Me thinks me must order a bottle asap!

Mumble, mumble, Cleeecooo, making my pc nicer, mumble!

Cleeecooo and everyone else who has helped me on my water cooling journey... THANK YOU so very much.

I am typing this on the new build which is just downloading windows updates :) WOOP WOOP!:D:D:D:D:D

That makes me think, how do you see if there are air bubbles in that tubing? :/

Was you lucky like me and didn't have any? Well I thought I didn't, got some minute ones. xD

But looking very nice! You should be proud, what fan are you using as an exhaust?

I look forward to more pics

No problem at all :p

Exhaust fan is an Apache Black 140mm on a controller so nice and silent. To be honest the only sound coming from the PC is the gentle hum of the pump (which will be having a rubber dampening pad under it soon) and the HDD's are actually louder than anything else in the case now LOL

No bad thing really as windows is on a SSD and I have another SSD for game installs.

So generally running the PC is now silent :)

As for air bubbles I am sure there are some in there but over the next week or so they will work out. Turning the PC off and on will also kickstart them to shift. I also occasionally rock the machine to coax the clinger on's :)

All in all I am utterly happy with the machine. Once I had windows all installed and everything else then I will be throwing a little overclock at the new i5 2500K.

The way that I have plumbed the machine is simplicity for filling also. I just unscrew the whole of the top of the res and pour in from the bottle. So simple it's great!

The one warning I would offer anyone who is considering building a system with water cooling is DO NOT be tempted to tighten the compression fittings too much... You will NOT be able to get the fekers off! I have an argument with one fitting and a large pair of pliers to loosen it. Finger tight is plenty and I have not sprung a leak... (yet).

My only wish is that I could replace all the HDD's... however I have around 4TB of stuff on them :( Not a chance I could afford to replace that amount of storage just yet.

However... I have been toying with the idea of a NAS enclosure and stripping them out of the main PC :D

To be honest mate they are usually only spinning when the machine is turned on... or when they are streaming media to the lounge. Other than that they are not an issue for me when sat at the machine.

But a PC full to the brim of SSD's does sound nice :)

Ya lol i over tightened mine, if you undo them it undoes the whole fitting and requires 2 pairs of plyers to undo, it also twisted my tube when I over tightened it.

Live and learn

LOL happened to me twice Barry when the tube twisted up! Nightmare :) Though I have learnt of things for the future having done this build. Careful planning if the early stages, TONS of reading on the subject and taking time to check, double check and final check also helps.

Though I have to admit that the single most INFURIATING thing about the whole process was not getting my CPU mount plate with the CPU block  I was spitting feathers LOL

All in all though it's been great fun putting it all together... Oh... AND FEKIN EXPENSIVE!!!! hehehe

I over twisted mine, on purpose. If I ever need to add a new block or something, I'll just cut the tubing and bin the fittings. Saves from leaks - touch wood.

Quick update... It's still running and still watertight (which is of course a bonus!). Happy days. All done before I have to go to work tonight Yippeee!
