We hate Valentines thread

It's such a shame seeing so many people buying expensive gifts for their partners.

You don't have to spend silly money to make your partner feel special. A few small gifts and tokens of love throughout the day followed by a nice evening out for example doesn't cost much, yet will likely go down really well and be appreciated.

Fickle, stupid day.

The girlfriend really takes it seriously, however I do NOT. And i've made it pretty clear. I do presents and cards on birthdays and at christmas, the rest of the year I show her I love her through what I do, not what I buy.

its a stupid day made to make people without GFs feel useless

of course i can get a GF if i want but if got a lot on atm.....

meh, I show Mrs. Lofz everyday that i love her, we both don't bother with valentines day... although she has this year and is taking me out for a meal on Friday. It's her birthday soon so I've purchased her one of those fancy walkman mobile phone things as a joint valantines/birthday present.

I do feel soft towards her, I've been with her for nearly 6 years, wouldn't mind a mini lofz marching around demanding its dinner, it would help me get my act together thats for sure.

My head is a mess, nearly 26 years old and i feel as messed up now as I did as a teenager.

meh tomorrow night, al be using it as an excuse to watch soppy romance movies curled up in bed proper bloke :D

I'm single at the moment, so I just hate it because people with significant others are having a good time and I'm not. :(

Oh well, there's always porn.

In my opinion it is only as commercial as buying chocolate eggs at easter. Why is everyone seeing it as such a negative day? My gf & I don't go mad but we enjoy having yet another excuse to go out together - we always do it a week in advance though as its our 'anniversary' / less busy :D

My girlfriend says Valentines Day is a waste of time and money, but heaven help me if I did nothing :D besides, I often come home with little treats and surprises for her, so for me to do nothing on the day that every else does (as I'm not sure it's very common :D) would just be a little strange...

I Love it as it gives me an excuse to Hug any woman i want to & Flirt with them.

Oooo look at me. I'm just so unconformist the thought of celebrating any day which is moderately commercial disgusts me. I mean, how totally capitalist of everyone to support it. Mindless drones all conforming to the norm clearly too ignorent of how such conformity is a social disease.

We need to fight the machine, man.

I agree, it is quite commercialised. But I ALWAYS splash out on my girlfriend, and treat her to something. A nice gift and/or a meal or something. I think it would be quite unfair on her to see other people getting nice valentines day gifts and for her not to. I've got her main pressie, off to do a bit of extra shopping today. :D

I like valentines day. I like the fact that it's a day where partners exchange gifts and what not. Oh, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the odd gift back myself as well. ;)

Please tell me that you have a girlfriend. If so, then I know what I'm doing today.

You don't have girlfriends when you are my age you have Lady Friends or Acquaintances & Yes there will be someone visiting me later :D
This doesn't stop me flirting like an old queen though & I already have my first three victims planned
I don't need an excuse to Hug women but when one comes along i take Full advantage :)
