The Ferrari 499 is such a nice looking car. The Porsche and Cadillac aren’t too shabby either.

Edit - didn’t realise Valentino Rossi was racing this weekend.

Newb question, do the regs forbid windscreen wipers and washer bottles? I know they add weight but surely they can make the cars plenty light enough that they’re probably struggling to get to the minimum weight rather than being too heavy?

Edit - a lot seem to have wipers, are they just not wanting to use the washer fluid? Just thinking about that car early on that had a filthy screen.

No they do all have them and they do have to work. On the commentary they were saying they don’t really set the washers up for use in the dry because of the tear-offs they have on the windscreen and that they’re there for when it’s wet. The radio feed was telling the driver to wait until the slow sections on the track before using the washers.

Update: raining now!

What team?

Not an actual race team, we're a comms company that supplies radios/intercom into the teams.
Theres 3 different companies here, MRTC, Riedel and Autotel..
We've got most of the paddock and feed all of the team radio out to TV, regardless of which team and who their radio supplier is, then there's Riedel who are a massive German company, they have a couple of teams, then there's Autotel, who have 1 team...

It is nice to see such a big hypercar field, looking forward to Aston joining it next year with the V12 Valkyrie. I used to push and do all nighters when I was younger and watch every single session. Now I just can't do it #old.

I even got a shoutout back in 2008 to stay awake

I do need to get myself to Lemans, I've managed to get myself to most other major motorsport series.

Been a good start to the race so far, shame BMW have had a few oops moments.

Ferrari walking away with it at the moment, looking very strong all race so far. Still a LONG old way to go to the end. However, the Ferrari looking like its theirs to lose at the moment. All it takes is one unlucky mistake/incident though.
