Yes i know i was being cheeky with my reply
God DM just shut up for once will you??..you just totally nit pick an entire game all the time....Brazil completely and utterly outclassed England...Kaka was his usual sublime self with some very nice nifty passes...just lucky for England that they didnt finish very well or else this game would and could have been 4 or 5 nil.
Anyhow hoping that the Irish do the French over
.
Yes better to do the normal, "we were totally outclassed" and leave it at that. Thats clearly how people improve, just accept you were worse, don't even think about why, don't consider how you can be better, just end the discussion right there.
OUr biggest management problem for the past well, 10 years, is fans reacting like you do, and the managers aswell. All these games we talk about being good to learn from, we never do. SWP has played in enough games for every single person involved to realise how completely useless he is, yet we're still calling him up, thats not going to help us win the game. Working out where we went wrong and doing something about it is how to improve. Glossing over the defeat with a pointless inane remark and not doing a single thing differently next time around gets us, another pointless exit in a cup without looking remotely competitive to the top teams.
I thought Milner did fine. Barry suffers from the jack of all trades, master of none problem. Bent was pointless really, you can argue that he got no service but he made no attempt to go and find the ball. In a game like that you can't have a striker just sitting up top waiting for the ball to come to him. Luis Fabiano, Rooney and Nilmar all moved around trying to get in the game, Bent didn't.
Englands game is to try and play someone in behind, with Rooney upfront, or Defoe, Bent played as he was told to. Capello was screaming instructions to everyone the entire 90 minutes, yet didn't tell Bent to drop deep. Brazil play intricate passing, Fabiano is fantastic at that, and Fabiano got plenty of the ball all over. bent didn't get passes, the ball, his game isn't to get on the ball and play others in and he wasn't being told to do so.
As for Barry being jack of all trades, not really, he's not very good defensively, he's decent getting fowards when theres cover for him in Lampard who has the dicipline to cover for our other players who don't get back well. Barry's game is getting foward, he was played defensively today, he was poor. I can't see how people can say he did nothing wrong, in a game that Fabiano dropped into the space Barry should have been at will to get the ball under no pressure, and the rest of the team walked through Barry like he wasn't there. What was it Barry did so well that made him ok in this game?
