Weekend Football 15th-16th Jan

FT: United 0 Spurs 0

United remain unbeaten but at least they've dropped 2 points here, thanks spurs! We're 2 points away from top (GIH to united):D

180/1 - For 4 draws today!

Man utd have looked like a league two side fighting for a draw this half. Very surprised it's finished 0-0. Spurs have been terrible at putting their chances away aswell :(

I can't believe Spurs couldn't beat Chelsea either, Chelsea were utter utter rubbish, this is why the idea of a Spurs title push is laughable. They played almost at their usual level, vs Chelsea/Utd at their just worst, in years, and they still can't beat them.

Though the idea Utd might end up unbeaten is a awful awful advert for this league, how can Giggs play, Utd be that bad and still remain unbeaten.

point gained by Utd no question

I was expecting VdS to have to do a lot more work though

Is it better to have two or three outstanding teams who slaughter everyone year after year - or a totally unpredictable league where there isnt one clear favourite, and the whole league is much tighter?

Personally I think the latter is more entertaining (yeah I would love Utd to be able to murder absolutely everyone, but it hasnt happened for years and isnt likely to anytime soon) - and it makes each game more interesting imo (yes very hard on the heart for sure, but still very interesting)

Before kick off I would have taken a draw, we dominated most of the game and should have deserved more :(

On a whole we've shown we can now hold our selves against the big boys :)

Need midfielders Fergie. I think the lack of confidence and composure spread like wildfire throughout the team bar the defence & goalkeeper.

It's hard to judge United when players like Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael, Evra, Berbatov, Hernandez & Nani all tend to do what they can with a team engine (midfield) that is performing so badly.

Ref did everything he could to ruin the game, Spurs still couldnt beat them.

Fergie needs to spend and drop this notion that Giggs, Fletcher and Carrick is an acceptable midfield, its not as If he needs to spend hundreds of millions, a couple of ten million players would be vastly superior to whats in there at the minute.

Modric superb as usual, Lennon looked a bit of a threat. The rest didn't turn up. Bale, and VDV both looked tired, Crouch better second half but that's not saying a lot he was awful. The sooner we sign a class striker the better, otherwise its bye bye to the CL.

Still no idea how Spurs didn't even manage to bundle one over the line in that last ten minutes. Useless. Still, draw is a great result for City.

Still think it was never a red, the first was a little harsh. Granted his studs may have been up but it wasn't two footed and he did get the ball.

And a second yellow for that 'challenge'? A joke. If it was anyone but United then much more would have been made out of that. Both the commentators said it was never a yellow.

Man U never really went for the win. When nani got subbed it surprised me because I'd forgotten he was on the pitch!

Yeah, I think both were harsh, especially the second.

Bit of a dull game though, decent result in the end for Utd and Spurs. How the hell Crouch didn't score I don't know..

unless they are unknowns Utd will never get £10m players who are already to start for the 1st XI, it just wont happen

So do you spend £20m + on one person (I would say defensive /box to box type first) and then see how much Fletcher / Ando do as straight AM's or do you (in my mind, greatly) risk CL games for a year, or possibly more, training up two cheaper options side by side ?

With the finances as they are the first choice is much more likely to work and less hazardous to the club (after all no one ever knows if two new players are going to gel as well as is required in CM, especially if they are both very young and inexperienced)
