Weekend Football 15th-16th Jan

With rumours of a Sergio Busquets bid.

After seeing today days game he would be perfect playing where Carrick was playing today.

the first was a little harsh. Granted his studs may have been up but it wasn't two footed and he did get the ball.

How on earth was the first yellow harsh?

On another day he could have been sent off. Just because it wasn't 2 footed, it doesn't mean that it's not dangerous. He jumped in off the ground with his studs showing; certain yellow and borderline red.

The second yellow was a culmination of several bad challenges after his first booking. He was let off on more than one occassion. And running towards someone whilst raising your hands /= trying to get out of the way.

Well then why wasn't Crouches a red? He jumped in with his studs showing as well.

Totally agree. He could and should have been sent off ages before that.
Karma from the cheating that United have performed against us previously in the Mendes goal, Ronaldo dive for a penalty to completely change the game, and Nani's handball and then cheating goal.

seeing as first and last of those examples was VERY bad refereeing, and nothing to do with "cheating" - and have you forgotten the other two or three other goals you conceeded in the same match (I think Ronny got a hatrick) without answer!!!

studs showing is studs showing.

Like I said, I didn't see Crouch's challenge but by the sounds of it, he's slid in where as Rafael jumped/lunged into the tackle.

You're far less likely to injure a player when you're challenging along the ground than when you're jumping into a challenge.

If we're highlighting every little thing, we should have had a penalty from Vidic trying to nick the numbers from VDV's shirt in the box. ;)

Don't be absurd. If that was a penalty then there should have been about another 100 penalties this season. Not to mention 10-20 mins later when VdV won a freekick while holding onto Vidic's shirt.

Benoit Assou Ekotto.

Flattered to deceive in the last 15-20 minutes by playing very well, but prior to that, he was done far too often by trying to play the ball out of trouble rather than putting it out or clearing it.

I think we need to go shopping in the summer.

Says the person that thought Utd should have had a pen for the challenge (with far less contact than today) on Evans last week? :p
