Weekend Football; 23-25th January - *SPOiLERS*

Really? I think we could embaress them because we should have most of our injured squad fit by then. This team was missing Evra, Rooney, Rio, Van Der Sar, Anderson, et al.

Obviously not heard that SAF is playing the same side that got them to the final. So only Anderson on that list will play.

This is assuming no new injuries of course.

I think some of them will play. There's no way Gibson should get a start for example.

Ohh, he is RUBBISH, I dread to think which brand of turps fergie was drinking when he decided Gibson was anywhere near good enough to play football at any level for United.

Well,if he does stick with the youngsters, they're not exactly bad are they. The twins, Johnny Evans, Foster, Welbeck, Nani (Even he should be able to perform against the spuds), Anderson. Not a bad team. He'll put a bit of experience with that to guide them through, probably Fletcher, Tevez and Giggs (Think he could really do a number on Huddlestone who hasn't got the mobility to cope with runners). But if any of those youngsters is injured, expect a few big names to appear. Either way, it'll still be a strong team. Agree on Gibson though, I know he's got a cannon of a shot but the rest of his game isn't up to it IMHO.

Talking going on before the game that Keane isn't even in the squad?

Edit - BBC just confirmed it. eek.

In before BaZ :) - The Liverpool team in full: Reina, Arbeloa, Dossena, Carragher, Skrtel, Mascherano, Alonso, Kuyt, Babel, Gerrard, Torres. Subs: Cavalieri,Hyypia, Riera, Aurelio, Benayoun, Lucas, Ngog.

So Keane not even made it onto the bench, like many I put the league as the number one priority this season, but if I was Keane I would be reading a lot into not even making the bench for a derby cup tie.

I really dont understand this at all - I cant see what Rafa is playing at

Ok Torres may not be fully fit and possibly needs the start - fair enough, but the FA Cup is seriously 3rd choice for Liverpool after the League and CL, so at least have Keane on the bench ready to come on after Torres has scored and the game is won (to protect Torres more than to give Keane pitch time)

Keane isnt going to be sold, so surely if Rafa wants him to be any use at all for the remaining 4 months or so, he has to play him as much as possible

According to the prematch interview, when quizzed about Keane , Rafa said he wanted to "pick 19 players but could only pick 18"...suggesting he couldnt fit Keane in. But he has Ngog on the bench, so surely Keane instead of Ngog on the bench would have been a better option?

As I say, if I was Keane I would be reading a lot into the selection. Unless Keane is privy to something we dont know publicly
