****Weekend Football Fixtures - 10-11th January 09 SPOILERS****

Pity its useless, I've just had the circle loading thing since it started :(

Edit: Oooh I have audio now, but just a still image.

Are you using Firefox? I always watch MOTD/MOTD2 online using Firefox, and for some reason that indefinite-loading-circle happened to me today as well. I've opened the page in IETab now and it works. Might just be me though.

Yeah I am, started working a couple of minutes, thankfully didn't miss any goals :)

I loved the little conversation between him and Berbatoss before his goal

"You go near post I'll hold these 2 back"

"What both of them?"

"Yean no ****in worries"

:D

I didn't notice that during the game, on MOTD looks like a class conversation :D

They didn't even show our second disallowed goal on MoTD

They also didnt show Rooney raving either or going into the back of Bosingwa - so I guess thats fair :D

Absolutely brilliant !!!

Totally admit that I got totally downhearted before the match - but the result was helped significantly by Chelsea giving up in the 2nd half, they really had little impetus into the last 1/3 apart from the odd free-kick

Vidic did outstandingly well at both ends, but Jonny Evans really showed what he is capable of. Completely surprised that Gary Neville was able to last the whole match, although he didnt provide that much going forward, he was pretty resolute around his corner (maybe one corner was given away a bit cheaply, but pretty minor really)

Giggs and Park where completely outstanding, and Fleth to a lesser degree, and Ronny seems to have woken up from his day dreams

Rooney should have been booked for the rant without question, even if Bosingwa did foul him originally. Otherwise he played pretty well as did Berba, although completely outclassed on the day to the midfield expecially.

Saying all that - yesterday will count for squat if we dont win at least one of the next two games, if not both of them (both tricky if approached wrongly)

Not sure if this is correct but I read this morning that yesterday's game set a new EPL record of 8 games without conceeding.....

I cant understand how garabge Giggs and Neville can be, maybe they fall into the case of game raisers.

Well, I think Nev's finally fot his match fitness back (he was out for a full season don't forget) and Giggs has always been a big game player and usually when he shows form like this it usually lasts for a good few games, which is good news for us. I don't expect him to play against Wigan but on the back of this performance it's likely that he'll get a runout against Bolton who he always seems to play well against.

I think when you look at yesterday's team it underlines how good that performance was. No Ferdinand, Scholes, Carrick, Anderson or Tevez. I don't think any other team in the league would cope without playing players of that caliber.

Even the wife picked it up with the comment "Why are the ones in red always going after the ball when the ones in blue are just chasing the red ones?"

Has your missus ever thought of applying to to replace the female commentator on Match of the Day?

Premiership:

Adebayor: 15 starts, 7 goals, 4 assists
Bendtner: 8 starts, 2 goals, 2 assists

Champions League:

Adebayor: 4 starts, 4 goals, 2 assists
Bendtner: 3 starts, 2 goals, 0 assists

I know who I'd rather have in my team...

Just to point out, total starts, 20 for Ade, 11 goals, 14 for bendtner, 7 goals. Vela 5 starts, 4 goals, RVP 22 starts, 12 goals

Stats can show what you want, Ade has form by playing and rarely missing games, Bendtner has not had a clear run of games, is completely without form and mostly gets 10 mins hear and there. For a consistant starter, at the very front of our attack with everyone focused on getting him the ball he's doing terribly, RVP and Bendtner are playing the withdrawn role to Ade, which normally means less goals, yet RVP's outscoring him.

THe thing is, in THIS game bendtner did more in his 10-15mins than Ade did in his whole game, Bendtner also scored a goal I've never, and will never seen Ade score, he will never challenge for that kind of ball, even if it was off the defender, Ade wouldn't have been there to deflect it in, that simple.

I'd take a fighter who tries, over a payday want to be top player who doesn't try, always.

CHelsea were poo, the goal Bosingwa was taken off right after was a joke, Joe Cole is ambling around not doing anything but very close, leaving Bosingwa to defend two players who can and did obviously pass it between them to get Ronnie on the overlap, Joe cole lazyness meant that final 4 yards of moving to mark one of them cost them a goal yet bosingwa was taken off.

No idea why he didn't take Ballack off for Beletti, leave Bosingwa on, push Joe to the left and play a proper 4-4-2 to give them a chance. They do have an incredibly poor team considering the cash spunked on it. Drogba, was utterly terrible, every touch let him down, he's always been reliant on people putting him chances on the plate, everyone has a great game now and then but rarely does drogba create chances. Anelka not starting was a joke, not playing wingers was a joke.

Both teams were woeful in the first half, it was only Chelsea getting even worse that prompted United to get into gear. NOt sure a first half between two such "good" teams has ever had so many misplaced passes, and so many crossfield balls that just went out rather than to a player.

The game only seems slightly less poor quality because the Wigan Spurs game was even more devoid of real quality :p

Half of the reason for that was the spice/needle betweent the two sides in the first 45 minutes - most people where thinking there was bound to be someone (or more) sent off if it continued the way it started.

Fortunately it didnt and the 2nd 45 was a lot better quality (certainly from the team that mattered anyway :D)

I enjoyed the first half too. Chelsea had a lot of the ball in the middle of the park, but we had more of a cutting edge. And plus the goal from the corner that never was, incidents like that are what make football so exciting.
