Premiership:
Adebayor: 15 starts, 7 goals, 4 assists
Bendtner: 8 starts, 2 goals, 2 assists
Champions League:
Adebayor: 4 starts, 4 goals, 2 assists
Bendtner: 3 starts, 2 goals, 0 assists
I know who I'd rather have in my team...
Just to point out, total starts, 20 for Ade, 11 goals, 14 for bendtner, 7 goals. Vela 5 starts, 4 goals, RVP 22 starts, 12 goals
Stats can show what you want, Ade has form by playing and rarely missing games, Bendtner has not had a clear run of games, is completely without form and mostly gets 10 mins hear and there. For a consistant starter, at the very front of our attack with everyone focused on getting him the ball he's doing terribly, RVP and Bendtner are playing the withdrawn role to Ade, which normally means less goals, yet RVP's outscoring him.
THe thing is, in THIS game bendtner did more in his 10-15mins than Ade did in his whole game, Bendtner also scored a goal I've never, and will never seen Ade score, he will never challenge for that kind of ball, even if it was off the defender, Ade wouldn't have been there to deflect it in, that simple.
I'd take a fighter who tries, over a payday want to be top player who doesn't try, always.
CHelsea were poo, the goal Bosingwa was taken off right after was a joke, Joe Cole is ambling around not doing anything but very close, leaving Bosingwa to defend two players who can and did obviously pass it between them to get Ronnie on the overlap, Joe cole lazyness meant that final 4 yards of moving to mark one of them cost them a goal yet bosingwa was taken off.
No idea why he didn't take Ballack off for Beletti, leave Bosingwa on, push Joe to the left and play a proper 4-4-2 to give them a chance. They do have an incredibly poor team considering the cash spunked on it. Drogba, was utterly terrible, every touch let him down, he's always been reliant on people putting him chances on the plate, everyone has a great game now and then but rarely does drogba create chances. Anelka not starting was a joke, not playing wingers was a joke.
Both teams were woeful in the first half, it was only Chelsea getting even worse that prompted United to get into gear. NOt sure a first half between two such "good" teams has ever had so many misplaced passes, and so many crossfield balls that just went out rather than to a player.
The game only seems slightly less poor quality because the Wigan Spurs game was even more devoid of real quality
