****Weekend Football Fixtures - 10-11th January 09 SPOILERS****

quite an understated response lol, sky built that up a bit more than it was. Btw fair play to scolari, he was very honest and fair there.

Other than score one, get booked for what should have been penalty, score another from the corner that wasn't, play a key part in the second goal....

yeah right he did nothing

So he didn't score any and set up a goal when the game was already won.

Glad that's cleared up then.

I think Utd deserved their win today and by the 3 goal margin. Before the game some concerns about the midfield but I take my hat off to Giggs and Park. Great performance.

Where to begin with Chelsea ?? Lampard did very little. Show Pony Cole once again showed why he is out of hos depth in big games for club and country. Deco just isn't getting the space he got at the start of the season. I disagree with a lot of the comments about Mikel as I thought without himof the score would have been much higher.

Also on the subject of disagreeing, despite his I still think Berb's was missing for big parts of the game.

Completely O/T but Carra is great to have in the studio. Whenever he is in there, he always talks a lot of sense which makes a refreshing change(not being sarky either)

Would've been better if the reporter asked him (or Rafa yesterday) if he'd love if you beat them ;)

Scolari's always been honest in his post-match interviews, not sure if that's because he's being told to be by the Chelsea board though.

whats been said ?

not much, that if you cut through the venom he doesn't think it holds up and that rafa benitez seemed very angry and upset and that when he looks back at it he'll probably regret it iirc after that he told the reporter he didn't want to say anymore on the subject.

There won't be any needed additions to the squad this window and I look forward to Kenyon's promise of a complete new direction in the Summer which will involve a major overhaul and hopefully the inclusion of some of the real eager talent we have in the reserves like Kakuta and the removal of the deadwood like Drogba, Ballack and Deco.

Totally agree, the loss of essien was major but I think you highlighted an even bigger loss in that of steve clarke. Since he left we have been a distinctly average team, I dread to think what our league position would be had he not been there from the start. Drogba, Ballack and Deco are the exact players that I would get rid of tbh as they show the least desire and passion out of the starting XI.

To be honest, I don't understand why Chelsea bought Deco when they already had Ballack and Lampard. They didn't buy a replacement for Shevchenko either, when it is evident they should have. The team is too old and slow. They need a massive clear out in the summer.

Well when your obviously as obsessed as what Rafa is, it can never be a healthy :p

Ah, that was enjoyable. The whole outfield for United was excellent but Giggsy shaded it for me. And to think we were denied two perfectly good goals and two clear penalties. Oh well, let's get Wigan and Bolton beat and introduce the house of scouse to 'squeaky bum time'!

He was involved in the goal, definitely. But I honestly think he was one of Man Utd's worst players, half the game he was miscontrolling the ball or getting tackled.

He wasn't at the races in the first half but got better as the game went on, he had two goals wrongly disallowed in fairness to him and got booked for daring to be pulled to the ground in the area (Ooh, the dirty cheating, diving swine!)

Berba!!!! me, nokkonwud, frank and a few others need to eat a bit of humble pie after this match ;)

Dunno what you're talking about? :p.
At least you were the only one to say Giggs had played well when he clearly had (I would have said the same had I been at my computer).

10 of our 11 players were very good today, only Fletcher was decidedly poor and incredibly lightweight (he was pushed off the ball all the time).
Evans, Giggs, Park, Ronaldo or Vidic were sublime today, and any could have had Man of the Match. Hell, Neville won an amazing amount of headers too.
