****Weekend Football Fixtures - 10-11th January 09 SPOILERS****

Big test comes on Wednesday, the way we are playing hoping for a point but our record against Man United is crap.

We've stopped putting 4 past you now. I think you should get Jewell back.

AS for Man Utd, not doing badly considering we had the disadvantage of all our big games away from home, playing in all 5 competitions, playing more games than anyone else, losing our Assistant Manager and whilst not playing well, that if we win our 2 games in hand we're top. Amazing really

Still got Ferdinand to come back as well, doesn't bode well for Chelsea and L'Pool.

You forgot to mention we're still not at top form yet. Be afraid Rafa!:D

With our form at the minute (Wigan) it'll be a good game against the Mancs on Weds! Ive got a feeling we wont get tonked like we normally do ha ha!
Up the tics! :p

Awesome result. Whilst chelsea were pretty dire, I thought United still played very well and looked supremely solid as a whole.

How can people be critiscing ronaldo aswell? I thought he played as well as any of the other United players

He also wasnt offside for that goal, and contributed more than enough to the goals.

Oh well, beware liverpool, we're gonna get ya !:D

I'd be worried. The united players know winning our next two will put unbelievable pressure on Liverpool. We'll be pushing hard for the result and we've got players like Anderson and Carrick fresh to come in and hopefully Rio will be fit by then too.

certainly not the gimme game it would have been in previous seasons. realistically i'd expect us to win but you've played well enough recently to make me think you'll give us a good game.

Im not saying were going to win but I dont think its going to be easy like Dan has said above! Should be a good game!

In the words of Kevin Keegan 'Id love it if we beat them' or whatever it was he said ha ha! :p

He did nothing all game pretty much and was hardly hacked. He'll say he was but he got the same treatment as everyone on the pitch.

Other than score one, get booked for what should have been penalty, score another from the corner that wasn't, play a key part in the second goal....

yeah right he did nothing

You forgot the hacking form Belletti he got after he never dived at his first challenge against him

Park was brilliant and should have got man of the match imo, evans also played well.

I have to agree with that, Parks work rate was second to none and he was definitely my MOTM.

The match was thoroughly exciting to watch too and i believe this may be the turning point on our season. We should win at Wigan and Bolton and hopefully, Everton will beat Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby and then Chelsea will get back to winning ways at Anfield :D

One can only hope.

just been through all the posts from 3pm - 6pm and haha, before the match, 'midfields pathetic', 'midfields the worst fergi's put out', 'fergi what are you playing at', 'weakest midfield ive seen', i was gonna quote them all but it would take up a good full page, is a quality read tbh :)

and yeh awesome result, loved it :)

apart from that, i love to see what they have to say about the corner tactic on MOTD, awesome tactic, it was totaly the wrong decision though, i think this is one where they will have to hold there hands up soon enough and say it was the wrong decision, not often you get a fellow official disagreeing with a decision but Dermot Gallagher did after the match, the officials just didnt know what was going on, ruined a great goal, and a tactic they spent some time on which they probably wont be able to repeat for the rest fo the season.

I hold my hands up, Im sure not many people (United fans or not) would have though Giggs, Park and Fletcher would have been enough, I still think Carrick and Anderson should have started but Giggs and Park in particular were in superb form today, best I've seen either of them play for a while.

Great game - really enjoyed it. Not seen Man U play that well all season and Chelsea were just lacking in motivation. Even the wife picked it up with the comment "Why are the ones in red always going after the ball when the ones in blue are just chasing the red ones?"

Loved the little corner routine - deserved a goal for that.

Thats all I see on here from the top 4, moaning every week so they don't look a tit if they lose, no confidence in their own team, its pretty pathetic.

Dunno what you're talking about? :p.
At least you were the only one to say Giggs had played well when he clearly had (I would have said the same had I been at my computer).
.

Dont let your opinion get in the way of fact - you should check out posts 311/312 which where made at the time of the subs

Admittedly I should have given Giggs more credit, but seeing as it was a live post the fact is I did say Giggs played very well

Well that was a stonking performance, Giggs was magical today and was positioned right every time the ball was needed to be played to him and he also covered for Fletcher's mistakes

Berbflop was immense for some reason today, maybe he's sick of Rooney bawling at him.

I did **** it when I saw the team sheet but it was a master stroke, Fletcher worried me again but he did what always does and run around them getting in their faces.

Vidic was MoTM without a doubt for me, solid in everything he did and took the header well, I loved the little conversation between him and Berbatoss before his goal

"You go near post I'll hold these 2 back"

"What both of them?"

"Yean no ****in worries"

:D

Its not every week. It's hardly surprising when most would say Anderson and Carrick are our top two central midfielders and they're both left on the bench for a very important game. Especially as poor team choice has cost us in the big games this season, especially against arsenal.
