Weekend Football **SPOILERS** 4-5 April

The biggest complaint I have about Lucas are his clumsy tackles and I can't see him losing that aspect of his game. Certainly got a lot of ability but I don't see him as a DM when he can't even tackle as well as Scholes.

That's all part of getting used to the pace of the game. Im sure he can learn, whether he does is another matter. I felt comfortable with him playing today as Fulham aren't really a physical side and knew he'd get time on the ball.

Also, although he sometimes is asked to play there, he's not a DM. He's naturally more of a box to box player.

LOL, well, I don't think so. :)

Admittedly I skip over DM's posts but only because of their format, they're so hard to read in "wall of text" form.

As for what he talks about, well, personally I think Adebayor is a bit pants, he seems to just go missing for large amounts of games. You can't really rely on him to get 20+ a season. I would never take Bendtner over him though, Bendt's finishing is really bad.

I think that's why Arshavin was bought in. Although I also think it'll take a bit more than that, maybe someone to partner Fabregas and Arsenal should do well.

I also quite rate Walcott, massive potential but IIRC he's been injured a fair bit this season?

ADe got two essentially tap in's from fantastic balls from Fabregas, the rest of the game he didn't get anything right, gave the ball away constantly and helped with no attacking play at all, against anything but one of the worst teams away in the league that would have cost us. Bendtner misses more as he, tries more, and he doesn't wait for those shots from less than 6 yards out, unsurprisingly people miss less at point blank range. The problem is any game that we aren't playing against City/west brom/blackburn and we can't put it on the toe of Ade in the 6yard box, we don't look dangerous. When we don't play Ade we have strikers/players willing to shoot from in and around the box, you miss more that way, but you have a chance of scoring.

Arshavin wasn't brought in as a striker, as he's not a striker, he was also incredibly quiet today as he needs an inteligent striker to play with, Eduardo, Bendtner, Vela, RVP all count, Ade does not.

Walcott did nothing all game, I can't see how you can watch that game and see him and Ade stuck by the corner flag failing to do anything dangerous for 88minutes out of the game as good. Arsenal movement improved immeasurably when Bendtner and Eboue came on, both held the ball, ran it well, went past people created chance after chance, attack after attack, tracked back, won the ball, got through the defence, attacked with speed and were 100% effort every second on the pitch, as both players are in every single game.

Eboue's best quality is in doing what Ljunberg did, he pops up late to run onto the ball in the box, Ljunny, Pires, WIltord, overmars, etc, etc, would all when run into the box and towards the near/far post when the ball is going up the opposite wing. You rarely if at all see Walcott do that, the couple games he's done it a lot this season like for England, he was fantastic. Today he barely got into the box. Eboue spent half his time on the pitch in their box, and the other half running all the way back and making tackles in our box, neither of which Theo did.

Although theres no way Nani will start, and Scholes will blatently play.

problem with Lucas is fans expectations...

we have three world class midfielders, Alonso ,Monster Masch and Gerrard (albeit Stevie is more a forward these days) all are older and vastly more experienced than Lucas.

Lucas looks a lot leaner these days and apart from the odd lazy tackle he does a lot of work and is competent, given time i think he can develop into a great squad player its just a shame he has such a wealth of talent ahead of him... btw, he won the Bola De Ouro in 2006 which is Brazillian Player of the Year and if you check the previous names on the list is no small feat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bola_de_Ouro

great result yesterday and a good all round performance ..

Liverpool are amazing.

I was surprised Liverpool won yesterday fully expected them to drop the ball as they so often do.

Keeps the championship interesting at least although I still expect Man UTD will win it.

WOW WOW WOW

The 1st was a header which wasn't exactly easy as he had to direct it without jumping. The 2nd was no where near a tap in, good ball control then composure to go around the keeper and slot it in, not an easy goal.

Now your comparing Eboue to legends as Freddy, Overmas and Pires? Seriously? What do you watch? So now it's on record from you

V.Persie > Bergkamp
Eboue similar to Pires, overmars, freddy

You've made my day, I'm laughin out loud here, cheers for that! :D

VDS

Neviile
O'Shea

Evra

Nani
Carrick

Giggs

Ronaldo
Tevez

Subs:

Foster
Eckersley
Gibson
Park
Martin
Welbeck

.....Hell of a bench. Be nice to see Macheda get a run out though.

Time to dig ourselves out of this hole. A win is an absolute must. If back to back losses haven't awakened some of the players then nothing will.
