I just can't understand Vela. It's like he's a different player in the Premier League. The talents there, but oddly enough unlike other young players it's not tentativeness that's preventing it coming out, it's ..more nervousness. Very puzzling to watch him at times.
thats what plagues players when genius managers do these brilliant things, refuse to play them in any important match at all unless you've won and theres 2 minutes to go, or its 3/4 of the way through the season and your main strikers injured leaving you with no choice at all. In the meantime every great performance, gets you dropped the next game. Vela, Bendtner, Eboue they have no confidence at all, it means when they come on they are trying to hard to do too much, they are under the impression(probably correctly) that if they don't score a hattrick, set some up and win a bunch of tackles that they'll be dropped. SO rather than play well they are trying far to hard.
Fergie for instance, with players fit, will drop in a young new player for a FULL game, or close to a full game, and this inspires confidence. Look at the guys that have played for them this year with relatively few appearances before, fairly confident because they have the idea that their manager is wanting them to play because they are good enough, not because everyone else has died.
Wengers been terrible in the past few years for actually playing our youth players properly, its all 2 minute appearances every 15 games, or a, we're 3-0 down, theres 15 minutes to go, do something, we lose anyway, they don't get another chance for 10 games, what does that do for them.
Not to mention for me personally, Vela doesn't look a winger at all to me, but the more we play him there, the worse he'll be and more out of practice at finishing. Likewise for me Nasri doesn't look a withdrawn striker, and Arshavin doesn't look a winger. Wengers a tit.
