Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 18-22

you have to admit 4 mins was a bit much in first place and where 7 mins came from

4 minutes might be a bit much but the board went up before bellamy equalised so a minimum of 4 minutes can become 4.59 add on time for the goal celebrations and the substitute by united, not that unreasonable surely?

Woo well done Man U!!!! What a tense match but we did deserve to win due to the chances we had. Now I can safely say Owen was a great signing!

If city weren't so **** and stoppede giving away corner after corner, free kick after free kick then there wouldnt be as much time added.

Main point is all the bitter scousers, lids & blue noses will go on about the injury time but BOTH teams had the same amount of time to score a winner

90+5 mins: UNITED GET THE WINNER!!! WHAT A GAME!!! And it's Michael Owen in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Last-ditch kitchen sink free kick from United is headed out to Giggs, who threads a gem of a pass to the scurrying Owen, who slips it in. What drama. And Alex Ferguson leaps six feet in the air from a standing start.

4 mins + Goal celebration and restart - another minute or so to be played.

4 minutes of stoppage time yet the referee plays for 6 minutes whats going on there?

Coudnt give a crap who wins, I'm just a measly non glory supporting Grimsby Town fan in Division 2 but that just takes the biscuit, should have been over in 4 minutes not 5 or 6.

Fair point...now lets hope that the Utd fans keep that in mind and are equally reasonable about it when it happens to them during the season or CL this year :)

Who cares if it was the 95th minute?

You play to the whistle, it's City's fault for not concentrating.

No its not, that really is BS, there were 4 mins of extra time, ONE sub, which means 30 seconds added, so MAX should have been 4.30 + maybe 10 seconds if there was a last ditch corner.

Its all the more of a joke because the freekick was given at almost 4.30 into extra time and Utd took about 25 seconds just to take the freekick, then when it went in and was cleared, any other stadium in the world the ref would have called time.

City deserved the draw, and Utd got very lucky, Hughes made some huge mistakes though. Bellamy was fantastic start to finish, made a half dozen key tackles in and around his own box and ran full pace up the pitch for every attack. Both goals were incredibly well taken and considering Tevez was very little help throughout the game he did exceptionally well. But the second half Tevez barely closed down, couldn't pass to his own team to save his life and wasn't a threat on goal as per usual. Tevez should have been off early in the second for anyone else.

LIkewise SWP was hopelessly bad, lazy in defence, awful going forwards, couldn't pass to a team mate at all, was no help going forwards and got quite a lot of the ball and couldn't turn it into posession as he gave it away so easily. Petrov for SWP also early in the half would have allowed them to get more posession and keep the ball rather than waste it.

Lescott doesn't look good, Bridge had his moments but made a lot of good blocks/tackles aswell, though I still think Richards, Dunne, Toure, Lescott would have made for one of the very strongest back 4's really anywhere, with both big fullbacks very capable in attack still and pacey. Rather stupid to get rid of Dunne, any injury to Toure/Lescott and they are right back to having Onoura in there and he's ruddy terrible.

The one thing that was absolutely clear to me, for a new team City certainly have some ability, great on the counter. Very few teams, infact, has any team ever come back 3 times against Utd at Old Trafford? For a new team that hasn't played this line up before and are still relatively new it was impressive as they can only get better.

For me the game showed they are contenders, the only hatred I have for City is Adebayor, I'm thankful they paid us to get rid of him, but if they win anything, Ade wins :(

Other things that were clear, Foster is utter crap, Bellamy is clearly far better than anyone gives him credit for, Fletcher can only score flukey headers(off Barry's arm and in, was going wide without the touch, then his cross at Chelsea that just slipped in the far post).
