Weekend Football Thread *spoilers be inside*

Excellent goal but offside. Feel we're here for the taking if Everton equalise. Too many of our players have gone missing.

Edit: Would be nice if Gerrard actually attempted to win a ball and find a team mate with a pass. Shocking display from our captain so far.

WTF Pleat? So Liverpool are lucky because the zonal marking tactics worked as they should?

I dont think its a case of being outplayed in the midfield we just can't handle anything aerially. Every problem seems to come from set piece or them drillin the ball up and Lucas can't out jump the fro. Gerrard hasn't got into it yet, annoyingly.

We started better but after 5 or so minutes Everton looked the much better team. Aurelio, Gerrard and Kuyt have been useless both collectively and individually offering very little for Ngog to play with. Very lucky to go in at half time in the lead.

Wouldn't mind seeing Yossi for Aurelio and Aquilani come on in Gerrard's place with Gerrard replacing Lucas alongside Mascherano. Lucas just isn't strong enough for this type of game imo.

If Everton score this could get nasty for us.

How can you expect anyone not to be bitter? I feel sorry for the team more than the fans personally, a great performance by them counts for nothing and four players are going to have goals chalked off their records. What makes it even more of a joke, the booking one of our players received is still going to count! Consequently giving him a ban for our next game. Not to mention that the player who was meant to be serving his ban in yesterdays game, will now be banned for the next game - it's ridiculous.

There is no doubt in my mind that if that game was a play-off/cup final, it would have been played out.

What I can't understand is if they knew the forecast, why start the game. The ref just decided to call it off with an independent decision, he didn't speak to the managers, captains, ground staff, other officials, no-one. He wouldn't have had the balls to make the decision had the scores been the other way round, in favour of the home side.

If Man Utd's game against Pompey got called off at 4-1 in the same conditions there would be ****ing uproar.

We'll not win the replay now, I'm going to accept that already. But if there's any justice Plymouth should realise that it was our game, they were dead and buried 4-1 down after 60 minutes - something should be sorted between the clubs if the FA aren't going to try and come up with a fair solution.

Something like this maybe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAMK7EMKMx4

I know it's 5 goals not 1 but really Plymouth need to take a hard look at themselves if they don't at least support the idea of starting the game from where it was suspended.

Ranting :D

Why? If a ref thinks the game's conitions could mean serious injury he will stop play. From the video's the pitch was awful, and the players were sliding.

We had a similar thing against Coventry a few years ago (Sheffield Wednesday) the score wasn't as big as the Barnsley game.

What would happen if a couple of players had of been serioulsy injured? or sent off for tackles where they couldn't controll themselves because of the awful conditions?

Game conditions got worse and worse, and ended up been dangerous, ref stopped play to make sure there were no injuries to players. Simples.

Rant all you want. Right decision was made. I'm willing to bet good money if the score was reversed or something different that call would have still been made in the same conditions.

Why is the cripple not playing for Liverpool?

Why spend 20 million on a player to have him warm the bench?

Liverpool aren't blessed with having much money according to Liverpool fans / Rafa / Media so why is there big summer signing still not playing.

I'm not ranting. I agree with what you saying about injuries etc.

I'm just pointing out why Barnsley have a right to be a miffed, it's given Plymouth a second chance at a game that they don't deserve.
