Weekend Football Thread *spoilers be inside*

Any Chester fans here?

Can you tell us what really happened on the pitch today?

How many fans really protested?

LOL! And they were winning. :D

I'll text my brother, he's a die hard Wrexham fan so should know what happened there unless he had a game today.

Going to be interesting on Monday for them, to say the least. :D

Maybe not, brother had a game so didn't even know what happened down there.

Sucks to be them at the minute though. Not sure how much exactly they owe but must be a lot if it's taken them so long all the way up to this deadline.

Bye bye Chester?

wtf are stoke doing playing Sidibe, they loaned out Kitson and got Tuncay dying to play yet that 6ft 7 donkey gets a chance.

I follow non-league quite closely and teams going close to collapsing is now all to common. Chester, Salisbury City, Crawley, Lewes, Weymouth, Farnborough, Hornchurch all clubs that have had serious money problems, the list goes on and will continue.

The reason? Well mainly clubs trying to gain more fans by spending money on players, ground improvements etc that they can't really afford because the vast majority want to watch the Premier League, whether by sofa or at the stadium.

It's a shame because non-league football will always have that certain something.

I'd just say give a visit to your local non-league club maybe just once, you never know you might become hooked :)

We were destroyed by West Brom :(

Sad times :(

Nice to see the Dingles get their game called off :p big LOL at the manager and very bitter Barnsley fans on the radio after, saying that it was only because they were winning and the FA hate them :D

How can you expect anyone not to be bitter? I feel sorry for the team more than the fans personally, a great performance by them counts for nothing and four players are going to have goals chalked off their records. What makes it even more of a joke, the booking one of our players received is still going to count! Consequently giving him a ban for our next game. Not to mention that the player who was meant to be serving his ban in yesterdays game, will now be banned for the next game - it's ridiculous.

There is no doubt in my mind that if that game was a play-off/cup final, it would have been played out.

What I can't understand is if they knew the forecast, why start the game. The ref just decided to call it off with an independent decision, he didn't speak to the managers, captains, ground staff, other officials, no-one. He wouldn't have had the balls to make the decision had the scores been the other way round, in favour of the home side.

If Man Utd's game against Pompey got called off at 4-1 in the same conditions there would be ****ing uproar.

We'll not win the replay now, I'm going to accept that already. But if there's any justice Plymouth should realise that it was our game, they were dead and buried 4-1 down after 60 minutes - something should be sorted between the clubs if the FA aren't going to try and come up with a fair solution.

Something like this maybe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAMK7EMKMx4

I know it's 5 goals not 1 but really Plymouth need to take a hard look at themselves if they don't at least support the idea of starting the game from where it was suspended.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Distin, Baines, Pienaar, Heitinga, Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, Cahill, Jo.
Subs: Nash, Saha, Gosling, Yakubu, Neill, Coleman, Baxter.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Gerrard, Aurelio, Ngog.
Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Riera, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos, El Zhar, Skrtel.

Wonder how fit Johnson, Agger and Gerrard are going in to the game? Both Johnson and Gerrard looked well short midweek and Agger's still not over his back problems. Could really do with having all three at the top of their games if we want the win.

2 - 2 my prediction for the Merseyside Derby. i reckon Cahill will pop up with an equaliser about 70 odd minutes.

anybody know the news on torres? was it close or just rafa blow smoke about him having a late fitness to trick the fans into even thinking he was considering him?

no Aquilani start again... sigh poor guy, how u expect him to get into english football if u dont play him. sigh

Not surprised about Aquilani not starting, it's a derby and I wouldnt expect him to be thrown in from the start. If he had played more mid-week, which he should have, then I would've liked to see him start.

Hopefully he gets more than 30 seconds today :/

I'm relishing today's game although I fear for our chances with Clichy out, RVP out for probably the rest of the season and then Arshavin feeling a bit out of sorts after Russia crashing out of the World Cup qualifiers.

What we need is for our young players to step it up and if I was Wenger I'd look at bringing in cover for RVP in the next transfer window. We do have a lot of strikers but I don't feel that he trusts them with playing week in week out yet. I think that Van Nistelrooy would have been a good buy.

nah not a chance of more than 25 minutes at most, like andy gray and every commentator seems to point out since ive noticed, its about 65mins+ rafa makes subs.

lets hope lucas gets knockerd out early on by fellaini

Quite nervous about the Arsenal game, it's a huge game for Arsenal but not such a huge game for Chelsea so they'll probably be more calm. As much as I think Arsenal can win the game, Chelsea are just as capable of winning, hopefully it'll be a good game at least
