Weekend Football Thread *spoilers be inside*

DM is going to explode!

Don't know why, everyone whose underperformed in this kind of stupid formation/team selection is doing so now. Traore has been absymal, Sagna for both goals the 1st more than the second, was no where, marking, no one and nothing, just standing around doing nothing. The 1st goal inparticular he's 10yards ahead of the back line leaving a massive gap for Cole to run into. The second he didn't close Cole, was really standing in the middle of nowhere and didn't make a huge effort to block or close down cole, just kind of moved a yard or two sideways then stood still when the ball was crossed.

Sagna's delivery at the other end has been equally useless, the last cross in the half, a slow high cross, to Arshavin, why bother. He doesn't often try to get around the left back, yes Cole's good, but knocking it in to no one is more pointless than trying and failing to get past Cole. Denilson and Song, passes all over the place, the one thing neither seem to have any ability of is the weight of their passes. THe early Song pass directly at Drogba, who was standing still right outside our box was a pass no sane player in the world would do. He was moving, Drogba wasn't, Drog wasn't trying to do anything, he could have kept the ball, moved around him, passed to the keeper or 5 other players, instead he insisted on passing to someone with Drogba directly in the way.

No pace, no drive, no breaking, no fast incisive passing, no creativity added to a few players just being useless when it counts 2-0 down at half time. I'm still not quite sure how much Sagna had of Anelka but it seemed like a penalty, arm up all around him even if he didn't pull him away from the ball most ref's would give it, the arm should never be up and across him, I think we're very lucky it wasn't given.

At least i can stop listening to all the delusional gooners who think we can win the league this season.

Utd/Chelsea = proper squads equipped for the league.

Wenger has turned this once fabulous team into the Harlem Globetrotters of the EPL......it's hard to believe he just hasn't learned from the mistakes of the past few seasons.

He still has a great squad, just unbelievable, literally, belief in 3-4 players who are utterly useless. We have a better squad with more quality, but a completely stupid formation and a manager is too scared of losing so won't play the right team/formation. We've got players built for 4-4-2 all out attack, he keeps buying attacking players who are great, yet for 3-4 years we've been getting more and more defensive, finally moving to a two DM setup, of which neither DM is any good. If you want to play a highly defensive 4-5-1, and thats what it is, buy the players for it. You can pretty much make any system work, but you can't buy only defensive players and play a 4-4-2/4-3-3 all out attack because it won't work. Neither does buying all offensive players with no cover at the back, and playing defensively going to work.

yes we battered the bottom half of the table, incase anyone else has started to notice, EVERYONE is, they are truly woeful this year. if this game doesn't change dramatically, we'll have played 5 in the top half, and lost 4, which is what I said we would do for the past 2 months, while I said out goal difference is only because of playing those bottom half teams. If it stays 2-0 Chelsea will be 1 goal behind yet have played, 3 or 4 more top half teams, with a couple games against the worst defenses yet to play.

I agree with DM.

Arsenal have looked off the pace and not their usual self, how much this is to Chelsea playing well I'm not sure.

Huh we didn't look off the pace at all ...which game are you watching?

We look the same as usual against chelsea/utd for the past few seasons....plenty of posession with no cutting edge and a susceptibility to concede soft goals.

You have given the ball away in the final third and across midfield a bit too often.

That was an awful touch by Eddy.

Walcott is only there to stretch the game, give Arsenal some raw pace. Wouldn't of been my choice of who to bring on.
