Weekend Football Thread *spoilers be inside*

Hats off to Chelsea today, proper team that.

Drogba is just pure class......how many Arsenal players turned up today?

I certainly won't be paying £60 for a ticket again this season to watch these ****heels.

Is Wenger too stubborn to change his policy? Face facts Arsene, the squad is not good enough to compete for the title and it will never be until you start to invest in proven quality and experience.

Chelsea have done exactly what Utd did a few months back - flood the box with larger players and prevent movement. Arsenal are beautiful on the ball, but there is nothing we can do when we've go nowhere to go and no brutal striker for outside the box. Arsenal run the ball in and try to overwhelm the opposition. It's not going to work against teams with competent, strong, organised defenders.

Not sure 3-0 is a fair reflection and the only place we've lacked massively is up front.

EDIT

And goalkeeper.

vela looks like a very good potential striker but to throw him against chelsea up on his own with very little experience at this level is pretty much insane. they need to invest in a proven goalscorer in january so hes ready for next season. cant rely on RVP sadly, hes hugely unlucky with injuries.

Chelsea have deserved the win, despite us conceding that poor own goal I think the two they have scored easily cancel out any good fortune that they've had. We've been absolutely toothless in attack and I can't remember a time that Cech has had to dive across goal or sprawl across the net to make a save.

Every time that we run at them on the counter they just soak up the pressure and come right back, our final ball has been lacking as well, not to mention players getting into shooting positions and then passing it instead of having a go. Anelka has terrorised the defence with his pace and Traore has had a mixed game, I'd have seen Silvestre on instead but I don't think it would have made much difference in the grand scheme of things. It isn't our defence that have squandered all these offensive opportunities after all.

I'd say 1-1 would be a fair assessment of the game. Arsenal have dominated possession this second half. We just haven't been able to find many shots on target.

Not sure i can say we've deserved anything out of the game to be honest. Considering attempts on goal a draw would be a bit fortunate for us.

Striking aside, play for play, Arsenal have matched Chelsea and then some. The difference is, Arsenal had some back luck, and Chelsea managed to take their chances.

Things went Chelsea's way today, but the season is far from over for Arsenal.

I'd disagree. Regardless of your possession, chelsea stopped all of your attacks when they could potentially pose a threat on goal. Almost mocking your play style.

Well if Arsenal weren't out of the title hunt before today they are now and what was being talked about as the most open title race for years is fast becoming a bore.

The finish for 3rd and 4th place is certainly hotting up though because 5 in to 2 doesn't go unless it involves two German birds.

erm, they aren't that far behind surely? though saying that I've previously been quite a strong advocate of them not winning the league anyway.

Oh well Arsenal can kiss the prem title well and truly goodbye..what a rubbish performance today...without RVP our options are limited and Eduardo just looks plain crap...he hasnt done FA lately.

Yet again i can see us not winning a single thing this season because against the likes of Chelski and even Man Utd we always seem to implode despite lots of possession.
