Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

What a second half, cheers Everton, keeps Spurs behind Arsenal :D

Haha exactly...nice to see Everton take some points off the Spurs:D.

Got a tough game next weekend at Anfield...not looking forward to seeing us drop possibly more points although Liverspuds arent doing so well so hopefully we can take 3 pts and hope that Man Utd, Chelski and the rest drop points:D

Its meant as in, I post stuff as I remember it, if its wrong, I'm quite happy to be corrected, its not the end of the world.
Yes they did they did the double, but since the premiership began, United have won 6, drawn 6 and obviously lost the rest, but West Ham were not in the league for at least 2 of the premiership years, so its not as if its a place where United go and regularly get turned over.

The recent record (as stated on MOTD) states otherwise, and as posted earlier in the thread by someone else Utd's record there recentlly is pretty attrocious - so until there are a few more visits there in the coming years like that on Sat it will remain a bogey ground (just like Anfield is turning into - even if three seasons ago and further back we did well there)

Didnt drogba actually suffer from a broken rib after that flying kick?

No I dont believe he did - might have bruiised it a little , but serves him right for not going for the ball and trying to injur another player intentionally, the way he throws himself around the reported injury (which would take a hell of a lot longer to heal than a week or two) could have just as easily be caused by throwing himself to the ground every five minutes faking injury (look at him against Wayne Bridge on Sat eve for a good example)

FYI Im not 100% convinced a fracture is a (complete) break

I dotn know about that but there are certainly vastly differing amounts of fracture / breaks some of which only require a layman to throw up over a picture because the bone is actually sticking out - compared to others where you need an xray to even tell that something is actually wrong (and even the patient may not realise)

Wasn't Droga looking at the ball when he ran for it? Im pretty sure he was

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXpPZ1RsP3Y

Shows he is running looking at the ball, why does evans need to jump like that? He doesnt really does he? He is quite clearly only ever going to header it so theres no need to jump with ya leg out. You use your arms for momentum in the jump, his reaction is a bit strange (I thought he was having a fit) but the tackle was a bit OTT. Infact you can actually see Evans kick out 17-18 seconds you can see it.

I dont expect a UTD fan to see this though with those blinkers on ;)

Strange that the ref, commentators and pundits all agreed though...

Vidic hasn't travelled to Germany, probably Carrick and De Laet up against one of the best strike partnerships in Europe, we might be in trouble :(

Edit: Oh **** De Laet is ineligible. We've travelled with 2 fit defenders, Evra and Oliver Gill, this is going to be really bad. Scholes partnering Carrick in central defence? :p I think Carrick and Fletcher in DC with Park at right back would actually be my preferred choice :/ suggestions that Gibson might move back though.

Dont it just. Probably not for the same reason as yourself though.

I personally find it laughable that people think Evans should have been sent off for it

To me it looked like it was on purpose, at least a yellow. Why did he have his leg in that position and why on earth did he kick out as soon as Drogba got near. Very, very unnatural movements and for any neutral it looks very suspicious. It was almost exactly like a flying kick. When I go up for a header I never have my legs in that position and if there was a man approaching me I wouldn't try and find support on his chest, with my studs.

I find it laughable that people think it was a Drogba foul. He was hoping that Evans would miss it and was running through, following the ball imo.

I just keep playing the bit at around 16-17s and from there the only thing I can see is an intentional kick out at Drogba.

Drogba would have had to go THROUGH Evans (with DD's head at JE's waist) to get past him, without hoping to play the ball until after JE had potentially missed it - if DD had tried to go AROUND JE, then fair enough but he wasnt trying to

At the end of the day DD on his present course would have to foul Evans well before he would hope to connect to the ball

So basically, every Man Utd fan says it was a Drogba foul and everybody else says it was an Evans foul/assault. Sounds about right

Drogba has eyes on the ball initially but clearly moves to turn and shoulder/jump into Evans when he knows that he can't win it. Evans shouldn't have kicked him but Drogba knew exactly what he was doing.

i reckon you could pick up on times when fans on any club could be perceived to have blinkers on. I'm sure you're culpable, as am i.
