Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

I think that, really, you would have to have some kind of mental problem to not think that its now time for Benitez to be sacked.

Didn't think we played too bad in the 2nd half but the ball just wasn't breaking for us in the box (the N'gog chance sums it up). Countless times we managed to get in behind Blackburn's fullbacks but just couldn't get the final ball right.

At least we've kept another clean sheet :o
Liverpool in deadball waste of time shocker :/

Never known a team to waste so many conrners :o

Clean sheet is always good to take away from a game, especially with our recent defensive problems. But saying that, Blackburn didn't really trouble us much to test out the defence really.

Corners? I always thought Liverpool were serving up bags of **** when we got to the corner flag.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO, leave Agent Benitez there ;)

Good win for Arsenal, needed that, sounds like Arshavin has bucked up his ideas!

Waiting for DM to come and post how it was a good thing for Eboue to block the goal and how we only beat a bottom team again, blah blah blah style post. And maybe finding fault with Song again, even though he was suspended? :D

Oh plenty of goals to look at on match of the day tonight. 4-0 is an incredible result considering it was an away game to West Ham (who usually play out of their skins) and we had quite a few players missing and then further injuries during the game.

Kuszczak has been doing well since VDS got injured again, I think it's a good call from Ferguson to give him his chance as Foster already had his. Both are excellent shot stoppers, it's just the decision making and crosses that lets them down at times, but at the minute Kuszczak deserves some credit for being more composed than I've seen him before, maybe because this opportunity to show Ferguson how good he can be won't come again.

Giggs has been immense, I don't give a flying hoot what rival fans think of him, he's got 2 goals and 10 assists from 12 games he played, we haven't that sort of assist statistic in midfield from anyone bar Ronaldo in recent years.

I'm a bit concerned with the defensive injuries building up. Van Der Sar, Vidic, Brown, Ferdinand, Neville, O'Shea, Evans, Fabio, De Laet all sidelined now.

Lovely strike and goal from Gibson again. Glad to see he's getting an opportunity in the team and showing what he's capable of. Valencia is now starting to show why Ferguson brought him in during the summer, the more he settles the more the players around him know where he's going to be and where he's going to cross the ball to. All in all a fantastic result today. Liverpool's result was the perfect dessert to the delightful 4 course meal I had today. :p

I'll say this only once, but c'mon Man City.

the definition of crazy: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome...

benitez does the same thing every game, same players, same tactics, same system, and it just ant working! hes mentally retarded to a degree where im pretty sure he thinks hes winning games because hes taking off benayoun (probably liverpools best player this season and creative outlet) and resting him. h

Man City. Bunch of saddos with the lights off before the players come on. I guess anything to distract the fans from remembering that they'll be shortly watching Man City is good.
