I've never played it before but know that it is widely acclaimed as being one of the scariest games ever made. I pondered it over last night too, but like you, decided against because i need to stop spending at the moment! But, again, like you :p, come this time next week I will probably be playing it too! :o :p

Bought it because I'd never played it before and I'm actually really enjoying it! It's pulling me away from Killzone which is not good for my stats!

All I need now is Tenchu and I'm a happy man, but I have a sneaking feeling that's not going to happen... :(
 
Silent Hill was awesome back in the day. I found it scarier than Resident Evil tbh. Although, towards the end where it gets a bit abstract, I got a bit confused, more than scared.

Has anybody else played the Red Faction demo that came with Qore this month?

I've just been playing it for, about 45 mins lol
I didn't even beat the level, I was having much too much fun bashing the hell out of the buildings (and people) and watching the destruction.

This is the first game to remind me of Crysis.
Not graphically of course, but the physics engine, beating the buildings, and knocking the supports away, and watching them collapse.
Of course, there's a healthy amount of propane tanks and other exploding devices about to shoot at, and watch the explosions, and buildings collapse nearby. Driving the vehicles is fun, and dangerous too. Drive past a gas tank, and the enemy shoot at it, boom, you go flying.

The graphics themselves aren't the most flash I've ever seen.
It's one of those games that upscales to 1080p as well. DTS sound also.

But for just running around, smacking the buildings with a sledgehammer, and slowly taking out the big walls etc... as they've said, everything is destructable, and everything has its own weight.

So for those people who are used to Crysis, they'll know what I'm talking about. Where you can hit one thing, and one thing falls against another thing, and they all affect each other. This is the best use I've seen of a physics engine since Crysis.

Great stuff, I'll be buying it.
I don't think the game itself is very deep, but it's fun!
