Hey im looking to gain weight and bulk up since i nearly failed my RAF medical for been so close to been under weight!

Anyway the guy at the gym suggested some Mammoth 2500

and said that would be the best for me, he has loads of it in his gym and says he will sort me out with some tomorrow.

Is this stuff any good? Ive never used products like these before so what exacly do they do? Can they have side effects ?:o

Ah right i thought it was that, so its just loads of calories, fair enough.

Is it all going to make my belly chubby or even everything out? :p
I will be working out 4 times a week as well.

Looks like a decent dose of protein in there as well, but nothing more sinister than that so no side effects to worry about.

Unless you are doing heavy weight training then the vast majority of those calories will turn into fat. Whether this is localised around your belly or not is down to your genetics and how you tend to carry fat.

1 magic weight gainer shake will not suddenly make you put on muscle mass.

post your full diet

TBH you should use real foods, and only use these shakes if for whatever reason you cant make a meal and its more convenient. Even then i would make my own shake with my own ingredients.

I used this stuff for like a month but it costs quite a lot! Now i tend to eat two boiled eggs for brekfast with toast, a sandwich for lunch with beef/turkey/ham and have pasta/jacket potatoe for dinner. As long as you eat regulary and well no need for it as far as im aware :)

I wouldn't touch it mate tbh. Eat smaller meals and more often and supplement with a box standard protein shake.

Back in the day i was on 7 meals a day AND a 'Infinti 3000' shake (3000 calories). Anyone old enough to remember the Cybergenics stuff?

Now i just use good quality protein, creatine and glutamine in a stack and get great results (not that this would work in your case, you need decent calories and lots of em).

As mentioned dude, post your diet and workout schedule. I'm sure we can give some unbiased help (rather than someone trying to sell you stuff he stocks).

No it's no good, and yes it can have side effects....

What you want to know what they are? Ok

1. It will empty your pockets of money for no real reason
2. It will make you put on mostly fat, NOT muscle.

Bad enough side effects for you?

I think you have taken what he said a little out of context.
Unless your talking about massive body builders, have you ever met someone who doesnt have some fat on them??

I think i was in his situation i explain what i mean.
I was made of lots of lean muscle, but very skinny. (6ft 4 and 11 stone)
I didnt want to be super muscular, and found it diffucult to gain weight
I wanted a bit of normal bulk around my wrists, waist, neck etc.
Its far more easy to work out to gain some shape, but alongside that drink these to gain some weight, as i also found it very diffucult to fit a massive eating schedule into my lifestyle.

Is there harm in having the opposite to a slim fast, with just lots of carbs and some protein in it?
I found that it added those few extra calories i was missing each day to gain a normal diet. I gained slowly and got a reasonable size, along side workout out 3 times weekly.

However having looked at that product i think it might be a little to full on. Maybe find a mix of better ingredients would be better.

But why buy it? Why shouldn't I say it's carp, when it is?

Goto places like myprotein and you can pick up Whey powder for dirt cheap, even cheaper if you use the price matcher and various codes. Goto Tesco or similar and buy their value branded oats for absolute peanuts.

Then you can add olive oil, full fat milk, peanut butter, etc and you will have a far superior weight gainer for a lot less money. I'm talking like £0.20 per serv instead of £2.00

Super high quality protein, best complex carb source from the oats aswell as their unique and powerfull anti-oxidants. Then you get all your EFA's and omega-3's from the oils/ peanuts:)

It's just better than the branded, hyped up garbage like Mammoth 2500 in every single way, even the name should set the alarm bells ringing :o

I was talking about carb shakes sorry. Your body has a protein intake limit, so extra protein shakes to a skinny person is useless.
He wants to bulk a little, then carb shakes are good, just extra calories. Natural carb shakes even better, but for my convience and taste cause im lazy, i would buy some mass gainer.

BEEFCAKE BEEFCAKE!!

dude speaks truth

Yep, an excess of protein in your system will act like a weight gainer anyway.

Just try a guzzling numerous protein shakes on top of a sound high protein diet of real food and watch that sixpack disappear under nice layer of fat :D

I did, it definetly didnt work, where you learn that? i switched from whey protein to a heavy carb shake and some protein and i got a lot bigger.

Ive also heard that if you lack carbs in your diet you dont get the full benefit of protein in anycase.
This my view anyhows.
