Well, I picked the GSi up...

In that case mate I'll hang onto them, saves me buying 17" tyres all the time :p

Its a castle combe action day mate so plenty of car clubs will be there but RT have a stand, check the events thread mate as there is discounted prices on entry and track passes. Looks like it will be a big crowd too

Am I the only one who doesnt care a jot about torque steer?

Why is it such a problem for some folks?

I guess it's all down to how bad it is. If it's bad enough that you have to fight the car to hold a straight line, it would be a problem. If it's a manageable and predictable amount then not so much of a problem.

My 214 Mk3 torque steers.

I know what the upgrade is like, the performace of that Rover is similar to the Mondeo I had. I went from a 1.0l Micra K10 to a 2.0l Mondeo and was chuffed!

Now I have a 214, it's much more rev happy than the Mondeo but I have to abuse it to get anywhere.

The tyres are really pap though so it makes driving quite scary and bit of adrenaline rush knowing I probably couldnt stop if I go wrong and would end up in a ditch, so I just don't make a mistake.

Maybe the altenator bulb has gone.

Glad you're pleased with it :). Didn't think I'd notice the power in my new car that much but the difference was huge, mainly the torque and the pull in every gear.

In a way though I'm already used to the power and am getting greedy and want more!!

Happy Rovering

Cheers guys :)

The white 5 door belongs to 'rover220' off here. He came up from Stafford yesterday to have some detailing done on his car, slept here overnight with the intention of finally fitting the 50mm springs I've had in the back of the car for about a month.

Sadly, due to typical british weather, we had to call it off :(

Here's what is should look like when done...

Some of the Manc Meet regulars should recognise that spot :D

it always makes me smile to read about someone clearly as happy as a kid with a new toy over their new vehicle.
i hope you get many trouble free miles out of it.

I think the bumper would look better if you stuck some fog lights in it.

Fog lights 4tw!

Torque steer?

What exactely is this?

I think I get it on my megane coupe and it don't feel safe at all.

When you have a powerful front wheel drive with an LSD, instead of wheel spinning under power the differential moves the power to the other wheel. Meaning a lot of grip but the car pulls from side to side. Varies depending from car to car but can cause a bit unwanted lane movement shall we say :p

Glad your happy with it Andy, the low down grunt of the T16 Na is very impressive, the engine doesn't like to rev though. Completely different power delivery to the 1.4K.
