I'm confused by the Ecotec badging on the spark plug cover.... What's that all about?!

No idea, the engine is out of a 95 Cav SRi, according to the chap i bought the car off, it was the law at the time that they had to do it, i really have no idea though

ecotec isnt anything. just a fancy name they gave to theyre newer 16v engines. better mpg etc. nothing in the lines of vtec

Don't think that's what he was getting at. An Ecotec is different to an XE, so why does an XE have Ecotec badging on the cam cover.

Smells fishy to me tbh, but i hope its all honest and above board.

Here she is after a megs clay bar and a polish (and yes, i know the plate is WAY too small, had it made up as a tester, but realised a normal sized one would look SO much better!)

Make note of the ultra sleeper "steelies"

So, what's first on the list?

Head gasket, followed by windscreen and then some paint work.

Following that she'll be given some new boots (wheels) and brakes aswell (not sure if existing are slightly warped)

Ok a small-ish update.

Windscreen was fitted at the weekend, looks 100% better, amaxing what a difference it had made to the car, £80 fitted which i thought was a cracking price.

Picked up some sport wheels (yep, same ones as i sold) for £30 last week. Need to get the tyres off, then i will DIY refurb them in anthracite (pics as and when i do it.)

Had a chap come round tonight off the MK3OC and picked up a modified grill i picked up cheap to sell on, and just by coincidence he has a Sport estate in the same colour as mine. Anyway just through chatting he mentioned he was having a GSi bonnet sprayed and fitted this weekend.

Hmm me thinks, won't hurt to find out how much he wants for it if it saves painting my nackered one. £20 gets me a good bonnet (couple of small stone chips) and also a front grill, so thats a massive saving seeing as painting would cost double if not more than that.

Headlights and indicators are also coming apart this weekend to smoke the inners on them, ready for when the HID kit arrives.

Also had the readiator off earlier on in the week, Ordered a 2nd hand replacement as that is gunged up good and proper.

Can I just ask, what's wrong with getting a nice car, and doing things to that? You seem to have gone through several cars now, all not particularly nice looking before or after..
