Well this looks awesome!.. Asus Eee Transformer Tablet

Well, you don't need to connect to a computer to set it up with iOS5 on any iPad now is what he means I'm sure.

I have the Transformer and iPad 1. I haven't had many random shutdowns and apart from that the Transformer has been brilliant.

iPad 1 vs Transformer is no contest. The TF is miles ahead. Can't comment about the newer ones except to say that they are obviously handicapped by the restrictive Apple ethos as well.

So far so good on .24 for me. No reboots or unusual behaviour and I didn't cold boot because my tablet is now refusing to do so since .21.. Any ideas?

How come itunes isn't needed? is that an ipad3 specific thing?

Sorry as said, what I meant was I don't have to connect it to a PC and use the POS iTunes. You obviously need to use iTunes on the iPad to buy or download content.

I was one of the lucky ones who had a transformer that worked fine until very recently, then it decided to conk out on me and play up all the time with a mixture of hardware and software faults.

It's developed a fault already :( :(

Right side speaker just stopped working. Very occasionally, if I tap the center of the screen quite hard, it squeaks back to life for a millisecond

:(

Really! Unlucky man.

There were a few units early on that had a speaker issue, but touch wood mine is just fine.

RMA it and get another.

If you are watching a movie over HDMI does he screen 'have' to be on? Seems like a waste of power.

Just got hold of a dock - wow, I've been missing the party trick this whole time! Wireless mouse works, USB storage works (I can play movies from thumb drives etc.). Anything else cool I'm missing?

Any idea on how long a warranty is with asus for the original TF101 ?

Actually no worries.. I am there in 10 days.. it looks like a loose cable on the inside of the unit. A size t05 torx and a phillips size 0 is likely to fix it.
