Wenger - get out

'cause you don't need wingers innit.

You just get lots of central attacking midfielders and play them all, something will happen.

:D

If I remember rightly, Nasri played on the wing in his old club, then Wenger put him in the middle, now he puts him on the left and then in the middle when Arshavin comes on. Doesn't make any sense to me.

He seems to think breaking up the opposition attacks means foul at every opportunity, I think he can be coached out of this though, so I think you should keep him.

I hope so, I'd probably give him one more season and if he still keeps up with these stupid errors then he should be sold. He commits way too many fouls by being in a bad position to begin with, and then being beaten, instead of trying to sprint back he just sticks his leg out, he's done it countless times and it does my head in. If he just sat a bit deeper like a proper defensive midfielder should then he wouldn't have a problem.

He's had a lot of time to change that aspect of his game and he hasn't.

If they've never attempted to stop him though, then he never will, perhaps Wenger doesn't see it as a problem, knowing Wenger he probably thinks bad refereeing is the cause of him getting booked all the time.

He's had ample time to adjust his game.

imho, he clearly doesn't see himself as a holding midfielder and this is why he gets forward so much. A holding midfielder is supposed to sit in front of the back four, break up play and fill in the gaps left by other players, not try and be messi.

I was talking about Song not Nasri.

I have said from day one about Arshavin that he is being played in a position is he not comfortable with. He should be playing just behind the striker. But Wenger got it wrong.

Same for Nasri. Why has Wenger played him out of position.

Agreed, he gets in advanced positions way more than he should and when he is given the ball by another midfielder half the time he just runs forward or tries to beat a man, just pass it to the wing or pass it forward and then drop back just in front of the defence.

Also agreed, Arshavin should be in the middle of the pitch, not just chucked out wide and then expected to make an impact. In regards to his goals and assists he's done very well considering the position he is being forced to play in.

We need to practice set pieces more as well, lately I've seen way too many direct free kicks just get blasted high and wide, and I can't even remember the last time we scored a corner or even properly tested the goalkeeper from one. Squillaci was the last one I can remember and that was bloody ages ago.

iirc Arsenal have let in the most goals in the league from set pieces.

It's because we can't defend against corners for toffee. To be fair we haven't done that bad defending in open play, but as soon as our opponents get a chance to organise an attacking set piece we are in trouble, it's been that way for several seasons now... Hell when we play Stoke we can't even defend against a ***** who can throw a ball a long way.

Simple height issue which is Wenger's mistake. Even our CBs aren't tall in terms of the EPL. I think it's a reason why Wenger sticks with Diaby for some games.

You're not the only ones, we haven't scored off a corner for about 20 years (ok maybe slight exaggeration), we have taken to passing back to the half way line to restart the attack. :D

The British game is very different to the Spanish one.

Barca haven't done too badly against English opposition though have they? They managed to dominate big physical Chelsea easily enough.

The British game just puts more in to set pieces as everyone has to be physical and big in the English league as opposed to being a good footballer.

British team in Europe is not the same as Premier League. Arsenal struggle against the bigger teams like Stoke and Bolton in the air.

Arsenal are noticeably worse when Song isn't playing, he hasn't been as good as last year but he's certainly not been bad.

Yep agreed

The thing I dislike most about song is that he picks up a lot of yellow cards on the halfway line.

Also agree, its fustrating to see him make stupid rash tackles and get yellow cards which then means he has to cool his tackling down.

Simple fact is that Wenger needs to get a grip this summer and sell the crap rubbish players that we have...ive been saying it since last yr get rid of Denilson, Diaby, Eboue and a few others...replace them with better players...get a decent and i mean a decent world class goalkeeper as we havent had one since our Seaman days...sure Lehmann was good taking over from him but hes a nutter and caused enough havoc when he played ie cost us a few games with his craziness:p

Secondly and i really really despise saying this...take the captaincy off Fabregas...hes not captain material...give it to Vermaelen or someone who can shout and scream the odds at our other players when they **** up...we need bullies in our team, people like Adams, Keown and Viera...thats the players when we used to bully the **** out of teams rather than us being bullied about. Sadly Fabregas isnt that sort of player, hes too timid plus i think taking the captaincy away from him, will let him just enjoy his game more, concentrate on his performances rather than having to feel that he has to win the game for us singlehandedly.

Problem is that we have no backbone in our team...dont know why tbh...it seems we are in the lead and we just go to pieces when the other team puts pressure on us...this is why we need some enforcers in our team to stop that from happening....why is it yr in yr out when its the title run in, we always drop stupid points against teams that we should be beating??...same thing happened last yr and its happening again:(....it will happen again next season if Wenger doesnt sort this crap out.
