Wenger - get out

Would Arsenal fans be willing to change their style of football though?

Not many managers out there are able to coach a team in to playing the style Arsenal do and a new manager would mean you would surely lose some of it?

I'd take uniteds style any day of the week.

However, I don't think the problem is really the style of football we play but the players we have and the positions we play them in. We also need to cut the whole 'walk the ball into the net'/'score the perfect goal' mentality, it costs us far too many games every season! 2 natural wingers (Eden hazard would be one), a Cahill to partner vermaelen and ship out diaby/denilson/squillachi and you'll see an instant improvement!

Absolutely. It's ironic that George Graham now has a better time/trophy ratio than Wenger.

But that's as a fan, not somebody looking at it in a financial sense.

This might sound like a stupid suggestion (There is no might, I know it sounds stupid!) but I really think Arsenal should sign someone like Chris Samba, he's not world class, nowhere near.. But he is good at the main thing Arsenal struggle with.. He absolutely dominates the air! He's tall, he's strong and he can win headers all day long!

(Again, I apologise for my stupid suggestion).

well thats 2nd place definately gone now losing to bolton isn't good enough especially when ur still in the title race same old story with wenger i'm afraid either he spends and buys big in the transfer window or he goes cos his youth policy clearly isn't working.

I think that's a good shout. Arsenal need someone like Vidic, Puyol, Terry etc that actually has the balls to impose themselves on opposition forwards and I think Samba is in that category.

Ask united fans if they rather play sexy football then winning titles and trophies.

true enough. I dont really support football teams but i do support how Arsenal play the game, i put that down to Wenger's philosophy. The home match vs Barcelona in the champions league was possibly one of the best games i've seen in modern times. For me it was the first time ive seen a team play similar to Barcelona and beat them. Pretty much the perfect advert for football still being known as "the beautiful game" imo.

Like others have said again and again. He needs more leaders on the pitch, he needs more steel in midfield. Needs a world class centreback and goalie.
I would also say he needs an out and out striker, someone who gets goals and nothing else. Van Persie for me isnt that.

If i was offered a season ticket to see either Man U play or Arsenal play i'd take the Arsenal ticket anytime. At the end of the day its games you go to watch for entertainment. I get more entertainment from a beautiful classy game than for a dull boring 1-0 win.

Dont play for the win - play for the game ;)

Arsenal aren't an advert for good football at the moment, they're playing too much slow tempo tippy-tappy nonsense. I don't think I've seen a side look more clueless in the final third. If that's what you're into then fair enough, but I'd rather watch a side that makes use of the those things at either end of the pitch.

Makes me laugh as well when people characterise Arsenal vs United as good football vs brute force, it's total nonsense.

I'm talking about how they play ideally. There isnt another side in the PL that can play with the same passing flair. True at the moment they aint living up to that. But i can remember when they were (obviously some have better memories than others). At the moment their obvious weaknesses are....obvious. But to remember only the bad games and judge them harshly on that is rather shortsighted...

Bring back David Dein...when he was at Arsenal we were winning things...since he left, whether he left of his own accord or got pushed...i think he needs to come back baack as him and Wenger were pretty close and he would guide Wenger in the transfer market.

Granted i dont know what happened with the whole Dein leaving scenario unless someone can educate me but from where i am sitting....it seems since Dein left Arsenal, we have been in a downward spiral.

YEs there is, loads of teams on their best days can play great passing football.

Anyway one of the "best" things Arsenal did during the winning years was fast counter attacking, and fast attacking, its pretty simple that its easier to score when 3-4 attackers are running at the defence, rather than the defence, the midfield and maybe the striker aswell.

Plenty of teams try to play passing football, this idea that Wenger somehow has the ability and has managed to teach Fabregas to pass is laughable.

Most of our best moves and best goals come out of great passing for one real reason, Fabregas is probably the best passer of the football in the world.

A different manager wouldn't cause Fabregas to forget how to pass. AS someone said, we play tippy tappy slow ass, can't find a way past the defence football FAR more often than our "best" football, and we usually play our best football against the worst teams. Again something all other sides do aswell. Fulham vs Spurs, Fulham were fantastic, start to finish, they played "Arsenal" football.

Most managers given our squad would play exactly the same way, firstly who would we get, Rijkard maybe....... he's rubbish at passing football isn't he, Huddink.

Do people honestly think, firstly that Rijkard is somehow a worse manager than Wenger, or that we'd drop Wenger and bring in, Fat Sam, or Gregson?

Theres a half dozen managers out there who are as good as Wenger at his best, theres probably a couple dozen that would play the same football but actually win stuff than Wenger in his current state of denial.

He's pretty much said, since finally giving up on the title, that we have the quality but we need more depth.......... which highly suggests again that he thinks Denilson, Diaby, Kos, Sagna, etc, are all good enough.

The longer he stays, the worse and worse his overall time as Arsenal manager gets. Basically he can leave now, of his own accord and have a decent but not great record, or he can heap more crap players on the club, continue to hand out improved contracts to players that don't deserve it, get fired in a couple years and no one will remember the good years anymore.

Sagna IS good enough. And you have to remember this is Kos's first season in the premiership, without having a consistent partner. I really like how you fail to pick up on people like Eboue not being good enough.

Arsenal are only a commanding centre back and a prolific striker away from trophies, if Wenger makes the right signings this summer and he manages to convince his top players to stay then I think they'll win a trophy next season, yeah there is a few players he could do with getting off the payroll but he's not the only one.

completly agree 2 maybe 3 decent quality signings is all they need!

defender ,striker and a decent defensive midfielder for backup for song maybe?

Maybe if you were a fan you will see it in a different way. im a united fan and i dont want to see 'attractive' football ever if it means winning less trophys.

should man united with a tropy this season no one will say it was done the 'boring' way

fans of a team want trophys not beautiful football
