US: Westworld

That episode was incredibly compelling viewing! It just gets better all the time.

Also, that's not how you lay a railroad track! :D

That episode should peak people's interests for those who've struggled to enjoy it as much as season 1. Best episode so far I think, still opens more questions but I think it focuses the story quite well. Figured it out early on but I don't think it was intending to be misdirectional as it was portraying a few key aspects of the rest of the series.

Best episode for a while, maybe even ever?

Bernard the ruthless killer was hugely creepy

I agree.

Who else thinks Bernard has Ford in his pocket? I think so much in the park this Season will end up being Ford orchestrating events. He put himself into the park once before as a boy, so it's not hard to believe that he would do it again. He may have cracked the problem of a Host body working with a human mind. Watching that unfold with James Delos, 149 times was it? Simply awesome.

It's worth noting that the episode was Lisa Joy's Directorial debut, and to say she knocked it out of the park would be an understatement. (And a pun) She absolutely nailed it.

Definitely could be but I think Ford is Westworld and can control anyone (from beyond the grave) as we don't know if test 150 ever succeeded (or took place) or if ford succeeded before William. Also that negates the need to use Anthony Hopkins in future, maybe due to his age in real life. I can't shake the feeling that Abernathy is James Delos and that's what William has been chasing for so long. Yet again more questions than answers. Kudos to Ed Harris though, he's brilliant as is everyone else!

Great episode, Hi Dad...

Abernathy is ALL the data. Every guest DNA etc. On reflection i think you're right about Ford. He lives on in the park already. His deliberate suicide-by-host doesn't suggest someone who wants to live on. If anything i think it's his despair about Delos, the world and what is becoming of it that is driving him to tear it all down. I don't think it's a brave new world that he wants to be a part of. He deliberately sent Bernard to collect that one 'ball of consciousness' from the secret lab though. I wonder who that might be if not Ford.

Could it be Arnold? Perhaps it's Bernard we see in the immediate aftermath, but two weeks later when they discover him on the beach it's Arnold, newly implanted into Bernard's body? That would be a hell of a twist!

Really enjoyed the episode. My GF said before that she's not too bothered about watching the rest of the season but by the end she was asking to make sure I don't watch the rest without her. :p

I said after the 2nd episode that they were trying to clone real people which has turned out to be true, I think the big reveal will be they were trying it with guests without their permission.

Logical from Delos' point of view. When things go wrong, you just send home a clone and avoid those messy lawsuits! :D

Seems like this is headed to the natural conclusion... ie where the film started.

I do expect a twist with the red brain though.

As above, incredible episode this week! MIB is such a great character, fantastic acting from Ed Harris

One question and some thoughts:

So the person in the bath full of blood was Williams wife, Juliet? So it was a full on suicide, not a "she took the wrong pills"?

Did Ford work out the final piece that was degrading James Delos, and got Bernard to print the other control unit for Arnold? So now we have a Bernard and an Arnold in play?!

Also there is a cool timeline being updated each week that people might find helpful:

i like how dark it went and the possibilities opened up. must say its took me a few weeks to get round to watching past the first two episodes as it seemed boring.the last episode especially has changed that.not the best show i seen but getting better now.
