US: Westworld

Dolores may not have a script as such, or may be much more able to deviate from it, as she appears to be one of Ford's rogue hosts.

I think there are days, and things do repeat themselves, but perhaps only so far as it doesn't matter to a story. Maeve keeps waking up and going to the brothel because that's her job. Day in day out, that's what she does. Other stories may span multiple days so other hosts may be able to go off and do their thing God days at a time.

I think it like an RPG game, like Skyrim of something. In the absence of the player, a character is just doing their thing for days on end, chopping wood or cooking or waiting for something to happen. Once they're triggered by the player, they could get involved in who knows what, and it might be a while before they get back to their normal routine.

I assume surveillance. Didn't he make a comment about knowing everything that goes on in the park.

Why is the whole Thandie Newton thing going untouched then? Surely Ford might have noticed something odd going on by now if he keeps track of everything going on.

Assuming for a second it wasn't Ford that had already altered her and there is another party involved in that plot, it's probably because he has no reason to watch a single host and a pair of random relatively low level techs, meanwhile a visiting member of the board would be worth keeping tabs on, especially when she was meeting with the parks operations director that he would know through his spy not to trust.

what if Theresa was also a host and Ford had Bernard kill her to try and force him to break his programming, after all it seems to me that the hosts who are breaking their programming are hosts who have had major personal traumatic events, and killing someone you had feeling for might well do it

I would like to know how he knew he wouldn't kill the guest on the train, thos bullets were flying through the train, so they would have killed him. Unless they are allowed to kill guests in that zone.

Westworld has already shown that the bullets are "smart" and guests can be shot, but they just leave a nasty bruise. Shooting up the train would add to the realism of the event and guests would expect more difficulty/excitement the further from starting zone they get.

For example in an early episode during the Saloon safe robbery a guest walks up to the main bad guy and shoots him in the neck. The guest was over-joyed but in reality is was too easy and the guest should have been shot/tackled to the ground before he got that close.

Did you notice the scene in the background, I think someone walking from the train, the guy that bumps shoulders maybe, he drew on a guest. The guest took ages to get his gun out and shoot, but was then overjoyed he'd beat the guy in a duel, the host having stood there a few seconds waiting to be shot. :)

Sweetwater = Shadowglen or Northshire Valley.

Erm.... pardon?

The whole of the Westworld park is pretty much laid out like your standard MPORPG, as in the further away from the starting area (Sweetwater) you explore the more difficult the 'game' becomes. Hence why that guest was able to fumble his draw and still win the shootout at Sweetwater but if he'd have fumbled his draw like that out somewhere near Pariah he'd have been nursing some nasty bruises.

Shadowglen and Northshire Valley are starting areas in WoW.

there was some talk on another forum that the flys are spy cams and the flys are every were.
but i seem to remember a line that in the future that westworld is in, they can cure any disease, fix any injures. to me that means they must be using the same tec as the hosts, so what if instead of wearing glasses or getting laser treatment to fix bad eyesight (one of the most common problems with humans) you just got new eyes printed and what if Ford can not only see thu any host eyes but any eyes based on the host tech (same for hearing)

I wondered if the women from the board was also a host. Ford, having discovered that theresa was backing data up off site simply engineered the whole "story". She said there needed to be a blood sacrifice, someone unexpected and she was talking about Teresa, Ford then repeated the same line to her in the secret lab, bringing it to an end.

Well, with only two more episodes to follow, they have officially run out of runway to land this plane and can't possibly tie all the loose plot ends in a satisfactory way. That's despite producers and actors promising the season won't end on cliffhanger(s).

As crazy as I am about this show, I am going to drop it like a sack of potatoes if they pull "Lost" on me again and go for two year hiatus with things unfinished. I am not waiting until fall 2018 for another 10 open ended episodes of wild speculations and reddit fan fiction on a chance that maybe someone will explain something at some point.

You could always do something crazy like wait until you've watched the last 2 episodes before writing them off :p

This made me laugh :D

Still 2 more episodes and about not waiting 2 years. Well you're gonna have to :p unless of course you mean you won't bother watching it in 2 years, in which case see you then ;)

See the 2 technicians that are getting blackmailed. They had plenty of chances to get rid of Maeve. Why not lock her in that glass room and then get security in to put her down.?
